Vodafone Icons Finale Airs On TV This Weekend



Fans of Vodafone’s flagship musical talent show, Vodafone Icons, will this weekend have an opportunity to witness the finale of Vodafone Icons 2018 edition on television.

The 60-minute show will be air on Saturdays at 5pm at Adom TV, 5:30pm on TV3, and at 6pm on DGN. It also features on Metro TV and 4Syte TV at 5pm on Sundays.

Touted as the most anticipated music reality show in Ghana, this year’s Vodafone Icons seeks to set the stage for contestants selected from extremely competitive auditions to represent and perform in their various localities.

The 11-episode journey witnessed thrilling yet competitive performances from contestants across the country with the final 8 making it to the final stage.

The finalists are; Tina representing Kumasi-tech, Bogo Blay representing Tema, Verony representing Dansoman, Serwaa representing Tema, Evance representing Dansoman, A.A Smart from Takoradi, Richie representing Tamale and King Garo from Nima.

Vodafone Icons ‘Rep Ur Hood’ edition has served Ghanaians with some thrilling moments since auditions. This year’s edition is unique and different from other music reality shows as performances are held outdoor from the start of the competition through to the end.

The winner of this year’s ‘Rep Your Hood ‘edition will be presented with the ultimate prize package of Gh100,000. There would also be consolation prizes for the other finalists.

“We Don’t Accept Cash To Play Videos” – Jay Folley



Fiesta Tv, a 24 hour Ghanaian entertainment, music channel which is a subsidiary of the EIB group after being officially launched in September yesterday in a press briefing at the Accra City Hotel enthusiastically announced its strong presence now in 48 African countries via DSTV channel 329 and GoTv 159.

Many times have Ghanaian musicians asked how they can go international with their craft, have their works play on a Ghanaian own, but the international platform so they could advance their gains and reach out to a wider audience. The question seemed to be a mind boggling one with no solution in sight, but thanks to Fiesta TV, we have made headways.

Jay Folley who is the channel manager in making the big announcement did not shy away from the fact that scaling up and now being in 48 countries out of the 54 burdens both the managers and content providers with a greater responsibility and added they don’t accept cash to play videos but have a special promotional package for artiste who may opt for that.

“I’m excited about this, 48 countries is no small feat, but It’s a lot of responsibility on us as managers, you as viewers and the content providers as we have a lot of work to do, not to only position Ghana as the biggest entertainer on the African continent, but also let Africa speak a big language about our entertainment to the world.” Shared by channel manager Jay Folley at the press briefing.

Fiesta, which was founded by Abraham Ohene-Djan and was acquired by the EIB group two years ago will deliver a wide range of programing which includes lifestyle, music, events, entertainment bulleting’s and many more. There is also good news for Ghanaian content providers as their content will be more patronized as compared to others.

Joselyn Dumas Quits Joy FM Due To Non-Performance?



Award-winning television personality and actress, Joselyn Dumas has parted ways with the Multimedia Group seven months after joining the media giant we can report.

Deep throat sources at the media conglomerate revealed that she resigned because she was failing to produce the needed results.

Joselyn Dumas joined the Multimedia Group in March 2018 and was described as ‘talented presenter’ who was set to leave a huge mark at the station.

She was assigned to join Naa Ashorkor and Sammy Forson to help transform the flagship radio station of the group, Joy FM.

The big money signing joined Lexis Bill as the co-host of the station’s late afternoon show, Drive Time on Joy FM.

She was also billed to be hosting shows on Joy News and Joy Prime.

Her signing was greeted with pomp and pageantry as the media group hoped that her coming to the group will help its English speaking station, Joy FM outclass its competitors.

Seven months down the lane, the actress parts way with the Media Group for reasons best known to the company and the actress.

Her signing was said to have caused disaffection amongst staff members at the media firm as her role was not clearly defined.

Some of the staff believed that there were already enough capable hands to execute her tasks and hence her signing was unnecessary.

We further gathered from an impeccable source within the company that she parted ways with the company for non-performance.

About Joselyn Canfor – Dumas 

Born Joselyn Canfor-Dumas in Ghana on August 31, 1980, she had her basic education at Morning Star School and proceeded to the Archbishop Porter Girls High School where she became the Entertainment Prefect.

Joselyn furthered her studies in the United States where she earned a Degree in Administrative Law. She was a practising paralegal until she relocated to Ghana to follow her dreams of becoming a Television personality.

She made her debut Television appearance as host of Charterhouse’s Rhythmz, an entertainment show, which saw her interviewing many celebrities. She was later headhunted by Viasat 1 to host their flagship talk show, The One Show, which was aired from 2010 to 2014.

Her role in ‘Perfect Picture’, made a lasting impression on renowned director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso. This led to subsequent key roles in other movies. Her big break came two years later in Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s movie series ‘Adams Apples’.

Her impeccable role of ‘Jennifer Adams’ in ‘Adams Apples’ got her nominated for ‘Best Actress in a Lead Role’ alongside Hollywood Actress Kimberly Elise at the 2011 Ghana Movie Awards.

Joselyn Dumas has gone on to play key roles in movies and series such as ‘Love or Something Like That’, ‘A Sting in a Tale’, ‘Perfect Picture’, ‘A Northern Affair’ and ‘Lekki Wives’.

In 2014, her role in ‘A Northern Affair’ earned her a Ghana Movie Award and an Africa Movie Academy Award nomination for ‘Best Actress’.

She has starred alongside some of Africa’s finest actors, including John Dumelo, Majid Michel of Ghana and OC Ukeje of Nigeria.

She is currently the Brand ambassador for Range Rover Evoque Ghana.

Kofi Adomah Leaves The Multimedia Group After A Decade.



Popular Adom FM presenter, Kofi Adomah Nwanwani who was known for his fantastic news anchoring has confirmed in a video shared on his Kofi TV YouTube Channel he is no more a staff of Multimedia.

The regular host of Adom FM’s prime time news, ‘Kaseibo is Tasty’, took to his Facebook page to announce his resignation and later posted a video on youtube confirming his detachment from the Multimedia brand.

He said in a sober mode, ”It has been a decade of a great life-changing experience for me, especially in my career since I joined the Multimedia Group Limited. Employers and Colleagues turned family.”

He went along further to thank the CEO of the multimedia group saying, ”I would like to use my humble platform to thank the CEO of Multimedia Group Limited (Kwasi Twum, fondly called, KT) and all my bosses for granting me the opportunity to work in their distinguished organization.”
