VIDEO: Kidi, And Kuami Eugene Thrill Fans In London.

This comes after previous great ‘Mayorkun Live in Concert’ shows in Birmingham and Manchester. In the late hours of November 17, 2019, Mayorkun took his ‘Mayorkun Live in Concert’ party to London which was held at Indigo at the O2 Arena in London.

The concert was hosted by Ehiz ( MTV Base) and Shopszy ( Beat FM), Babyboi (TMOL) and witnessed a host of perfromers who thrilled patrons to an electrifying experience. During the event, Davido performed a string of his hits, including Risky Popcaan.

The event wouldn’t have been a success with out the Lynx entertainment headliners, Kuami Eugene and KiDi. Both arts took turns to entertain most of the reserved fans who were present on the night. They performed their hits tune, thus, Never Carry Last, Odo, Angela, Wish Me Well, Thunder.

Watch Kuami Eugene’s performance below;

Watch snippet of Kidi’s performance;

He may have been in the music game only for a short time, but that hasn’t stopped him from hauling awards left, right and centre. In 2016, he netted an award at the The Headies awards and Most Promising Act at the City People Entertainment Awards.

Only a year later, the Nigeria Entertainment Awards granted him the Best New Act category and he was also voted Artist of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards. As you can see, the ascent of this prolific artist has only begun and with Mayorkun tickets from StubHub you can become part of his journey. More good vibes are available with artists like OMI and Olamide, if you’re interested.

Hip Samba Fest 2019 Pursues Youth Unity In Northern Nigeria.

Hip Samba Festival will take place at Space 2000 Event Centre in Barnawa, Kaduna State, on 26 December. The Northern Nigerian Boxing Day event, which is in its fifth edition, will feature a mix of music, cultural performances, games, cuisine, visual arts, exhibitions and live shows, with contemporary artists showcasing their talents and entertaining concertgoers.

Hip Samba is produced by independent electronic and print media outfit Villageboi Communications & Technology. The festival is a fusion of urban and traditional entertainment content. Hip stands for ‘urban’ while Samba stands for ‘culture’.

The event will feature local vendors and a display of artworks. It will also be streamed live online to reach a wider audience.

“We want our streaming audience to become immersed in Africa and to witness an unforgettable experience through ancient poetry, traditional and contemporary music, eclectic dancing, theatre arts, comedy and cultural dance,” the event’s project manager, Vayan Joseph, said.

“Kaduna is popularly referred to as the capital of Northern Nigeria, a multicultural city with a large youth population. It is evident that Kaduna has suffered from continued ethnoreligious and political crises, which have slowed down social, cultural and economic growth.”

Northern Nigeria has experienced a number of censorship cases in the creative sector, with many artists in the region facing limited opportunities to perform and showcase their abilities.

“We believe a festival is not just about entertainment and enjoyment but also a platform for constructive freedom of expression, artistic promotions, cultural rights and relations, sharing meaningful messages, inspiring people to self-discover, encouraging tolerance and peace, and providing the foundations for nation-building. That is why Hip Samba Festival was conceived,” Joseph said.

The organisers have also presented a mission statement, which includes such goals and as to raise awareness about the need for young people to be agents of positive change, youth entrepreneurial education and promotion of self-reliance through creativity, awareness against the use of drugs, and the development of collaborations, among others.

Stormzy Readies For 2020 World Tour.

Multiple award-winning UK-based Ghanaian hip hop and grime artiste, Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. popularly known as Stormzy, is set to host his maiden event in Ghana.

Stormzy, who is currently prepping for his 2020 world tour would be performing for the first time to his fellow brothers in the motherland on Friday 9th October.

The British rapper, singer and songwriter in 2014, garnered attention on the UK underground music scene through his Wicked Skengman series of freestyles over classic grime beats.

Stormzy’s “Shut Up”, which was initially released as a freestyle on YouTube, went viral and peaked number eight on the UK Singles Chart after Stormzy launched a campaign to reach Christmas number one.

Stormzy won Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards and was named as an artist to look out for in the BBC’s Sound of 2015 list.

His debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer (2017), was the first grime album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart and won British Album of the Year at the 2018 Brit Awards.

In 2019, Stormzy achieved his first number-one single with “Vossi Bop” and his headline appearance at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival was widely praised.

He wore a Union Jack stab vest designed by Banksy, which was widely perceived as a message on the rise in knife crime in London.
