Vanessa Gyan Bows Out From EIB’s Live FM.

Vanessa Gyan, an on air person with EIB’s Live Fm bows out after 3 years yet we know not where she heads to. 

The Brooklyn College graduate who is with degrees in Tv & Radio, communications, public relations, and journalism gushes over how she will miss her Live FM family.

She took to Twitter to announce her decision to move on after all this year’s saying. 

“After 3 years, I can confirm I am no longer with Live FM. I will miss my Live FM family but you know what they say, all good things come to an end. I’m beyond excited for what the future holds and looking forward to the next chapter.”

The daughter of the late Kiki Gyan of Osibisa fame responding to why  “The Sincerely, Vee Show” was off has this to say.

“I’m always asked about The Sincerely, Vee Show! Yes, it was off air for a while but trust me, it wasn’t by choice!!! You all know that’s my baby but dahlllings, The SV Show will be BACK!”

For some months now, happenings at EIB has given us course to believe things are falling apart and the center can’t hold. What ever it is, we pray it’s  resolved quickly.

Meanwhile, we wish Vanessa Gyan all the best in all her endeavors.

Media General Appoints Beatrice Agyemang Abbey As New Group C.E.O.

Beatrice Agyemang Abbey, an astute broadcaster and business leader with close to 20 years’ experience in the media industry who have served at different levels in the organizations gets appointed as new group C.E.O.

On Thursday, September 13th, 2018 the Board of Directors of Media General announced that Group CEO, Pearl Esua-Mensah will depart from the company effective 14th September 2018 hence the appointment of Beatrice Agyemang Abbey as new acting group C.E.O effective today, September, 14th 2018.

Mrs. Esua-Mensah, who was appointed in September 2017 to lead the media conglomerate’s gallant ambition to become Africa’s leading media and communications business has served the organization for a year as she makes way for Beatrice.

 Beatrice Agyemang Abbey begun her media career with TV3 as a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor rising through the ranks to become Managing News Editor and later as Chief Operating Officer of TV3.

Beatrice prior to her appointment has acted in several leadership roles within the Group including Head of MG Digital and GM for MG Radio. Her years of service and leadership makes her a suitable candidate as Beatrice brings to her new role a deep understanding of the media business and her exceptional leadership skills.

Honourable Kojo Yankah, Board Chairman of Media General commenting on the leadership change, said, “The Board wishes to congratulate Beatrice on her promotion and wishes her well in her new role as Acting Group CEO. We are also grateful to Pearl for her service to the company and wish her well as she departs from the company”.

Media General are the owners of TV3 and  MG Digital also currently operates four radio stations in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, producing content in English and Akan. These are: 3 FM, Onua FM, Connect FM and Akoma FM.

Media General’s platforms have served Ghana for the years and still stands out as one of Ghana’s esteemed platforms in the media and communications business.

Jason EL-A Shuns GH 1 TV, Guess Where He Is Heading To.

Award Winning TV/ Radio Presenter, Actor & A Hip-hop artiste Jason El Agha, popularly known by his stage name Jason EL-A shuns EIB for a more challenging role in a new media firm.

The on air personality when approached by Georgebritton.com to ascertain the validity of the news said. 

“I was given a better offer by my new employer” the above statement clearly confirms his move from EIB’s GH1 TV and Live Fm but was tight lipped on the name of his new TV station, all he did was to assure us it’s still TV.

Jason, got the nod to be on television after his first major interview as a musician with Berla Mundi after which he was spotted by the management of Ghone Tv and was the host of Rythmz International on GhOne Tv and Young, Wild and Free on Live 91.9 fm.

We can say on authority he is  joining the new media firm as a presenter after two years at EIB network.

Joy Fm’s Sammy Forson Ties The Knot with Pearl.

Sammy Forson, a Ghanaian media personality, broadcast journalist and DJ with Joy Fm tied the knot with his Londoner girlfriend Pearl yesterday at a beautiful ceremony.

The on air personality with Joy FM and fiancee by name Pearl Yahaya had a private traditional wedding yesterday Friday, August 31 in Bolga.

The 36 year’s old presenter, artist manager, Entrepreneur, and Music award judge was in the news in April for proposing to his girlfriend at the Fidelity Bank on the Spintex Road and yesterday, they made it official.

Among notable faces that flew up north to support Sammy were the former interior minister, Mark Woyongo, Multimedia employees Lexis Bill, Philip Nai and Edem Knight-Tay.

Congratulations and we wish Sammy and Pearl all the best on this life long journey.

Ghonetv’s Eli Kharis Listed Amongst 100 Most Influential Young Persons In West Africa.

Television Presenter, Eli Kharis is one of West Africa’s 100 Most Influential Young Persons.

The 2018 West African Youth Awards ‘Television Host of the Year’ winner was listed amongst other noted individuals including Jessica Opare-Sarforo, Fella Makafui, FunnyFace, Sandra Ankobiah, Dr. Zenator Agyeman-Rawlings and Yvonne Nelson.

The initiative by the Confederation of West African Youths (CWAY) recognizes the contributions of individuals to the growth of their countries of birth and West Africa.

CWAY, according to its website is an all-inclusive leading ECOWAS youth platform representing and safeguarding aspirations of millions of youth across our sub-region.”

The body hopes to become the largest youth body representing over 200 million youth across ECOWAS by 2022.”

Eli Kharis is a Television Presenter, Producer and an Event Host.

Her media career started as a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2012.

Kharis hosted two talk shows on Campus radio station, Focus FM: ‘A Health Talk’ and ‘Every Woman’s Corner’ – a lifestyle show that sought to empower the youth to live healthy life and purposeful lives on campus.

She was also a part of the news team of the station for a period of two years.

Kharis joined GhOneTV as a national service personnel when the station was owned and managed by CharterHouse after a successful audition.

She was a producer of ‘GHToday,’ GhOneTV’s flagship morning show program and presenter of ‘News Xtra,’ the entertainment news segment on the show.

She hosted ‘Glam Blogger’ – a fashion news segment on GLAM TV, and the entertainment news segment on award-winning ‘E-Talk’ in 2016.

She is currently the host of ‘Buzz’ on ‘Rhythmz Live’ and ‘Let’s Go Shopping’ (an advertising show) both on GhOneTV.

‘The Cake Fair 2017,’ ‘Glitz Africa’s SHE Summit – Campus edition,’ launch of ‘Yenko Taxi’ app, Mr. Model Africa 2017 and Accra Mall Fashion Weekend are some of the events she’s hosted.

The 2018 West African Youth Awards ‘Television Host of the Year’ winner believes in staying true to one’s self, and describes herself as free-spirited, compassionate and a very outgoing person.

Her favourite saying is “history abounds with tales of experts who were convinced that the ideas, plans, and projects of others could never be achieved. However, accomplishment came to those who said ‘I can make it happen,’ took a step, worked towards a goal and ‘Earned the crown.’

She is a product of the Mfantsiman Girls’ High School, and KNUST with a degree in Industrial Arts.

Kharis was born Elinam Amenyo to Alex K. Amenyo, Keta Police Commander, and Madam Sena Akakpo, a caterer.
