“Stop The False Reportage On My Birthday Gift. – Shatta Wale Urge Bloggers

Few days after
celebrating his 31st Birthday, Dancehall King Shatta Wale has found himself in
a tango with some bloggers for spreading what he described as “false rumours”
about his friend, Kofi Amoa-Abban.

published by several social media bloggers claim that Ghanaian Oil and Gas
entrepreneur and philanthropist, Kofi Amoa-Abban, is the brain behind Shatta
Wale’s latest car addition; the 2019 model of Range Rover.

The report
suggested that the car was gifted to Shatta Wale on his birthday by Mr. Abban
who personally delivered the car to the dancehall artiste.

Meanwhile, after receiving the Range Rover on Thursday, Shatta Wale shared a photo of the car on his Instagram page with a caption; “2019 Range Rover birthday gift from my Godfada ..Help say thank you to him for me ..This one is too much for me .. Now dierrrr more Pah Pah Pah,” without stating who that Godfada is.

bloggers who picked on the Instagram post concluded that the said car was from
Mr. Abban.

The Dancehall artiste who became uncomfortable with the false publication again took to his Facebook page and urged the bloggers to research well enough before putting things out in the public domain.

He wrote: “All the bloggers spreading false rumours. about my friend should stop right now. II didn’t tell you he bought me a car. Let’s try to make this life we living be a better one for us all.”

Shatta Wale who
believes he wasn’t too hash on bloggers with his post asked them to “Please
research before you put certain things out as professionals.”

It would
however be recall that Kofi Amoa-Abban, was the same brain behind Shatta Wale
and Stonebwoy’s peace after their brawl at the 2019 edition of the Vodafone
Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

Fuse ODG Advocate For Prostitutes.

In August, after an entertaining event at Jamestown in the city of Accra, during the “Homowo” festival on a Saturday, we went to Osu to climax the occasion with a night to remember roaming popular joints on the streets of Osu. At the “Osu Night Market” we met Akweley, and two Ivorian friends, they were sex workers eager to offer us “booty for dollar”.  Akweley, an SHS dropout has been a sex worker for 4 years now; her other two colleagues (also sex workers in Ivory Coast) arrived in Ghana this year June looking for a new environment to mark as a territory.

Prostitution in Ghana is illegal but widespread so much that many Ghanaians are unaware that it is prohibited. There are brothels in most towns, cities, and ports. Akweley and her friends are “roamers”, they do not belong to a brothel. They work on the streets, bars, and hotels. On why she chose this profession, Akweley stated she was always a victim of sexual abuse because of her curvy stature. She never knew her dad and lost her mum at age 14. Men won’t offer her any financial support without tasting her cookies; with time she hardened up and joined the sex trade.

“It’s an indecent profession and a risky job, I know. And sincerely, I know my mother’s spirit won’t be proud of what I have become, but for people like me, it’s the only way of survival. Someday, I may find a miracle to a better life, but for now, this is what I do to eat. I’m not proud of myself but it puts food on my table,” Akweley said.

Over the years, Ghana is gradually establishing itself as a destination for sex tourism, and high rates of unemployment and poverty in the country are believed to the cause of growth in the sex industry; a fraction of sex workers are campaigning for legalization. Sex workers occasionally face violence from customers. They are also often abused by law enforcement officers. These included intimidation, extortion, threats, and raids. Sometimes, they have sex with police officers to avoid prosecution.

Ghanaian afrobeat’s singer, Fuse ODG’s new musical project, Road to Ghana Vol. One showcases a positive light on the evolution of Ghanaian music. The award-winning afrobeat singer is amongst those calling out to Africans and the Diaspora to return home and rebuild the continent. His current project, This Is New Africa (TINA) Festival seeks to unite Africa & the Diaspora through music, and he’s been very significant in promoting Ghana’s Year of Return campaign.

“Osu” is a track off Fuse ODG’s EP, Road To Ghana Vol. One. The song shares an intriguing narrative of prostitution on the streets of Osu. Osu town is probably the heartbeat of entertainment in Accra, and at night, Osu glitters, but don’t be fooled by the glitz and glamour, being at a place at the wrong time could be your worst nightmare.

“Osu has a great reputation for people enjoying themselves and having fun but at the back of that, there’s also the reality of these girls who have to work as sex workers on the streets to get to where they want to be in life. Most of them use this job as a stepping stone to build their dream life. No one talks about what they go through to survive the streets, and I felt like using this as a channel to speak for them and also highlight the fact that, these women need protection,” Fuse explains in an exclusive interview with Flash Africa. “It’s something that people usually frown upon but it’s about time we started to understand where they are coming from and see how we can help protect them, maybe the government can put up a legal structure to protect them, because at the end of the day, whether we like it or not, people ply the trade, “he adds.

To people like Fuse ODG, sex workers are human beings and they deserve their rights, regardless of their profession. Though it’s a controversial debate, Fuse ODG believes sex workers need to be protected by the law to make the sex trade environment safer for them and their clients as well. In June 2015, Zimbabwe’s constitutional court ruled that the police could not arrest sex workers…should other African countries, like Ghana, do the same?

Kanye West Set To Drop A New Album.

Kanye West is working on a new album. The 42-year-old rapper only released LP 'Jesus is King' late last month but he's already back in the recording studio, making a follow-up record with Dr. Dre.

Kanye shared a photo of himself and Dre on Twitter on Monday (18.11.19) and wrote: "Ye and Dre Jesus is King Part II coming soon (sic)"

The announcement comes a day after Kanye - who has four children with wife Kim Kardashian West - announced he has an opera in the work.

The 'Bound 2' hitmaker revealed the production, 'Nebuchadnezzar' - a Biblical ruler - who presided over the Babylonian empire from c. 605 BC to c. 562 BC will be directed by Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft and Kanye himself has provided the music.

Kanye shared the artwork for the event, a golden engraving of the titular king, and revealed the opera will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on November 24

Tickets for the opera went on sale on Monday.

Meanwhile, the 'Famous' hitmaker recently proclaimed himself the "greatest artist that God has ever created".

Ahead of his own Sunday Service performance, Kanye appeared at pastor Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church on Sunday (17.11.19) in Houston, Texas, and told those gathered: "I know that God's been calling me for a long time and the devil's been distracting me for a long time.

"When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me, and I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there's documentation of me drawing a church and [wanting to] start a church in the middle of Calabasas."

The 'Jesus Walks' rapper went on to explain that he believes God is now using him, despite "all of that arrogance and cockiness that y'all have seen from me".

He explained: "Because every time I stand up, I feel that I'm standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, 'I'm here in service to God and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.' Jesus has won the victory.

"I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for him."
