In the midst of an undying feud between the followers of the Shatta movement and the fans of Nigerian Musician Wizkid which was sparked by a comment Shatta wale made, – “I don’t see Wizkid as a superstar” – that generated a strong social media heat between followers of the two was laid to rest after Shatta Wale was united with Wizkid at this year’s Ghana meet Nigeria as the former openly called Wizkid his brother and a superstar, but guess what he called himself.
The Honcho of the Shatta Movement was introduced on stage by Wizkid to perform his freedom and currently raining Gringo hit songs. Midway through his performance, he addressed Wizkid a superstar and called himself a “fucking” super star, surprised? Don’t be that’s who Shatta Wale has shown us he is. A typical example of the Nigerian’s own popular phrasing “We never dey carry last”.
Shatta Wale’s introduction was the biggest surprise on the night, but fans were left unsatisfied with his performance when he dashed off stage after performing only two songs.
Though the musician was not billed to perform, his appearance was highly anticipated not only beacuase of series of tweets but also he is seen as the only Ghanaian to match up to Wizkid and win for Ghana on the night.
Other arts that performed or made stage appearances on the night were Nana Yaa, Bam All Stars, Kurl Songx, Obibini and A.I, Kumi Guiter, Sista Efya, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Dice Alice, Medikal, Kwesi Authur, Tic, Edem, Patapaa, Asamoah Gyan, King Promise, Mugeez, Fancy Gadam, Yaa Pono, Mr Eazi, Mayorkun and Stonebwoy.
Ghana meets Nija is an initiative by Empire Entertainment to bring together Ghanaian and Nigerian arts in a collaborative manner than for a competition, over the years the brand has not failed its purpose and did not yesterday as well.
This year’s edition of the eight years running event was dubbed, “Rescue Mission” and the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Center which played host to the event was filled to the brim with patrons who were eager, stood on chairs to witness and capture the moments on phones. Not forgetting those who broke out onto the main stage to touch and celebrate their favorite arts, but got prevented by the superb security present.

I’m The Only Virgin Female Artist – Kati G.
Everyone wants to know who is Kati G. what makes me different. I think I’m the only female artist that is a virgin making the best love music ever. I cherish the logical side of love. The side that gets you thinking and doesn’t emotionally tie you down. I wrote this song so that lovers can focus more on what defines love and not just the physical part of it.
Many may think I’m inhuman when I tell them you don’t need sex to have love in a fulfilling relationship. My new song ‘Na You’ is helping you figure out what kind of relationship you are in? Is the girl or guy just sexing you for something or is it real love, will your partner stick around without he or she demanding for sex? When you listen to my new hit song,’Na You,’ ask your partner, what defines our love or relationship? I feel that love will locate me without having sex. I’m a virgin in waiting, the song defines how I see love.

Create Female Artiste Of The Year Category – Eazzy
Ghanaian songstress, Eazzy has bemoaned the much fewer opportunities given to female musicians in Ghana compared to their male counterparts.
In a recent interview on Pluzz 89.9 FMs Area Gang show, the Obaagbemi hit-maker noted that the Ghanaian music industry has never opened up to the females the way they do for the males.
She said, The industry has always been opened to one or two girls at a particular time. Its never been opened to the women as much as it is to the men. It happens with airplay and shows. You have six men headlining a show and just one female.
The singer, who expressed surprise at news that the Late Ebony Reigns was the first female to win the ultimate Artiste of the Year award at the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last year, called for a lot more support for the female artistes from all stakeholders of the industry including the media and event organizers since the ladies work just as hard as the men.
Eazzy believes one sure way to motivate female musicians in the county is by creating a Female Artiste of the Year category in the VGMAs.
She acknowledges that men dominate the industry in terms of numbers so such a category will go a long way to motivate the ladies into giving off their best to be the best female act, as its done in several international award shows like the MTV MAMAs and EMAs.
Eazzy is currently promoting her latest single, Obaagbemi and is gearing up to release her yet to be titled EP later this year.
