Scilla Owusu Creates Workshop For All Creatives In Ghana.

Scilla Owusu, 22 year old British Ghanaian Director, producer & screenwriter introduces her new initiative to help give back to the creative industry in Ghana.

Entering the industry at the age of 18. Getting her foot into the industry wasn’t always the easiest. So she wants to resolve this problem for future young entrepreneurs.

She has formed this workshop Youngtrepreneurs which is a social impact workshop. The core goals are to provide youth led workshops in different creative sectors. Infusing professional expertise from Ghanaian experts to improve knowledge, gain job experience, and providing jobs in the medium to long term for young creative talents in Ghana. Especially to also support our priority of progressing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

The workshop will be launched in August 2019 based in Accra, Ghana.

Priscilla Akosua-Boatemaa Owusu known as Scilla Owusu is a 22 year British Ghanaian Director, Screen Writer , & Producer born in London , UK. Set on changing conversation through film & music videos with her Creative talents intricate eye of detail.

In 2015 , at the age of 18, Scilla Owusu was awarded best web series ensemble at the prestigious Screen Nation Media Awards for the digital online category. For her online series “A lesson Learnt ” Since then, Scilla dived into film and music video industry working with a number of Africa’s renowned artist . including the likes of stonebwoy, Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Davido, Afro B, Patoranking, Sarkodie, Fuse ODG, M.anifest, Maleek Berry And many more.

Tourism Ministry Signs MOU With GUMA Group.

The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi led an official working delegation to South Africa to discuss and sign a cooperation agreement for the development of specific tourism projects in the country.

The agreement which was signed between the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ghana and the GUMA group was signed on the 26th 
of August 2019.

The cooperation agreement which was signed by the Hon. Minister and Mr Robert Gumede, the Executive Chairman for the GUMA Group and witnessed by Mr. Kwadwo Antwi, CEO of Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) and Mr Blacky Komani, Dep CEO of Tourvest.

The areas of cooperation as agreed on in the MOU include: Assist in growing the Regulatory Environment, Review of Institutional Capacity, Assessment of Existing Facilities, Integrated Tourism Information and Communication, Commercialization of the Ghana Tourism Sector, Management System for Commercial Concessions, Investment Promotion Strategy, Wild Life Restocking, Development of Local, Regional and Inbound Traffic Strategies, Training, Establishment of Grading Council, Transportation and Logistics Plan, Development of Tourism Products and Direct Investment by GUMA in tourism infrastructure.

Other areas are Investment Promotion Strategy, Wild Life Restocking, Development of Local, Regional and Inbound Traffic Strategies, Training, Establishment of Grading Council, Transportation and Logistics Plan, Development of Tourism Products and Direct Investment by GUMA in tourism infrastructure.

Specifically, and in the short term GUMA will work with Ghana to development of products such as but not limited to Investment in the ongoing Marine Drive Beach front, Ghana Center of the World Project, A Cultural Village, “shipment of the Big 5 animals to safaris in Ghana, development of the Slave Trade Route plus the Gold and Cocoa Routes, Packaging of Traditional Festivals for international patronage and a Heroes Hall of Fame Museum.

During the visit, the Minister had the opportunity to have a firsthand look at the operations of some parks including the Kruger National Park in Nelspruit, the Lesedi Cultural village, the Tourvest Eco-Lodges, Gorge lifts amongst others.

There where high levels meetings also held with Infrastructure Finance Partners, Messrs. IDC and PIC to discuss detailed arrangements for securing needed investments for the Marine Drive Tourism Investments Project and Ghana Centre of the World Project among others.

The Minister also met her colleague, South Africa Minister of Tourism for bilateral discussions on how to promote cultural exchange and increase cooperation within the two countries where Tourism and the Arts are concerned.

Members of the delegation included the CEO of GTDC Kwadwo Antwi, Akwasi Agyeman of GTA, and Frederick Frimpong, Project Manager of the Marine Drive Project Office.

GUMA through its various companies employs over 10,000 staff members globally.

The group of companies has some of the top multinational companies as clients or partners and have made investments in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Railways, Energy Generation, Water & Sanitation, Property & Retail Development, Construction & amp; Engineering, Mining, Business Consulting, Private Equity, Human Capital Management & Training, Transport & Products Logistics, Private-Public Partnerships, Project Structured Finance and Tourism.

A team of highly placed executives and technical directors of the GUMA Group are expected in Ghana towards the end of September to initiate the process leading to the implementation of the signed agreement and to commence action on the immediate priorities.

UCC Gets A Colourful Experience With Kojo Manuel

The event which was hosted by Kojo Manuel, brought students out as early as 7am on a Saturday morning to jam in colour and party with the La Meme Gang! With music provided by the iPhone DJ, the music was top notch! The Azonto Twins were also present with their energetic moves.Social media was taken over with various colourful pictures and videos from the event which ended at10:30 am as students hailed Rexona for an awesome event.

The most intriguing aspect of the event was when Kojo Manuel had the crowd all jumping with splashes
of colour all round, staining the white shirt everyone had on but no one seemed to care as they jumped
in complete ecstasy and euphoria! This further cements Kojo Manuel as the best party MC so far!

He was named top 3 artists by Artsy from the Seattle Art Fair in August and He was mentioned by Vanity Fair (magazine) as one of the top 9 visual artists to follow in 2018.
