Tarsha Ama Arkoh is a self-taught fashion designer, but a trained psychologist who is currently doubling as the founder of Jamatarsh Designs.
The July 24th born in West Africa, Ghana at age 10 joined her parents in the United States. In May 2011 she graduated from Shaw junior high school in Philadelphia and from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science in psychology in May 2015.
After graduating from Penn State University. Tarsha landed a job as a case manager and while she worked full-time, she enrolled in a masters program at Wilmington University to obtain a degree in Business Administration. Along the line, she discovered her talent and passion for designing. Her masters was then put on hold to follow her dreams of becoming a fashion designer which birth “Jamatarsh”.
Tarsha realizing her undying love for creating and sketching made it a point to scratch designs every day. She hand-crafted her own garments and made it a point to be the center of attention every Sunday when she attended church.

Miz Debbie Readies For Plus & Proud Event.
Known in real life as Miz Enyonam Ama Dabor, aka Miz Debbie has revealed that body enhancement products on plus size women don’t work.
The public speaker made this known in an interview with blagogee.com, that she has tried these body enhancement products and never worked for her before.
According to her, many plus size women send her message via her social media handles [Facebook, Instagram] complaining about their voluptuous body.
When quizzed how she replied and also counsel most of these ladies when they send these messages? She affirmed that it’s really difficult sometimes I try my best to motivate and also inspire them.
“I’m plus size and I’ve embraced… I’m confident with my body and I’m not shy about what I wear…” she strengthens plus size women.
She continued that “World Of Our Own Productions Present Next Generation with Miz Debbie” This will focus on high schools tertiary, churches to inspire the next generations.
“There will so many activities outlined after our unveiling of [Plus And Proud 101].
These voluptuous queens will be visiting Institutions (Secondary and Tertiary) to Organize Seminars, Donate and among other insightful activities.
“Okyeame Kwame Brought A Spark Into This Year’s Miss Ghana – Inna Patty
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exclusive Events Ghana, Inna Patty has appreciated the inclusion of Okyeame Kwame in this year's pageant.
According to her, the ceremony which was held at the Kempinski Hotel was exceptional due to the input brought on by Okyeame Kwame who did not just perform on the night but produced the entire ceremony.
"Okyeame Kwame is like Made in Ghana and so if you want that infusion of 'Ghanaianness' and are doing something of a sort with him you would not go wrong with a partnership with him and we are proud to have partnered with him."
Inna said Okyeame Kwame's outfit contributed to the quality of the set in itself as regards how it was designed to be Ghanaian.
"We have our style of doing things and he came on board with his great ideas and it came out as a nice event," she added.
Twenty-six-year-old student of the Maureen Signature Institute, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi, won the coveted crown of the 2019 edition of Miss Ghana beauty pageant.
Sarah Odei Amoani, a 22-year -old Law student at the University of Professional Studies who is also a talent development and career guidance coach was adjudged the first runner-up of the contest.
She was followed by 23-year-old Purchase & Supply graduate of the Koforidua Technical University, Deborah Opoku Sarfo who took the third position.
In the meantime, Okyeame Kwame has released visuals of his song with Kuami Eugene titled 'Ino Be My Matter.'
The song is taken off the Made in Ghana album which is part of Okyeame's campaign to orient the minds of Ghanaians towards the proservation of our heritage.
A Recap Of Style Lounge Weekend – 2019
Style Lounge Weekend has officially become one of the events to look out for on our fashion calendar each year. From all things fashion, beauty, style, music and art, Style Lounge Weekend 2019 was a remarkable one.
Over the last few years, Debonair Afrik has set out to create the Style Lounge Platform as a means to grow and promote fashion brands and business with a global standard. The weekend event aims to shine the spotlight on emerging and established brands and trends in the fashion industry through a series of events during the weekend.
This year, the event went for a straight 4 days which is evidently a manifestation of how established and important this event has become on our event calendar. This year’s Style Lounge included the launch of the fashion school, fashion pop ups, masterclass and talks, exhibitions, fashion parties and private shows and presentations with “Nurturing Fashion Sustainability in Africa with a focus on ethical fashion”
It started off first with the fashion school which is committed to training and mentoring the next generation of fashion entrepreneurs. Emerging and some established designers had the opportunity to learn and interact from some of the industry experts who took turns to share their experiences and give hands on training on how to navigate this saturated industry while standing out.
Ngozi Dickson, a business and career coach with extensive background in Entrepreneurship and skills development was one Speakers at the School. Others included Media Personality and Digital Content Creator Chris Kata, Fashion Designer Jermaine Bleu and Bri Wiredua Creative Director of Briwiredua.
The Style Lounge 2019 officially launched this year with a fashion party at La Villa Boutique Hotel. The African Wear Party had guests showing up in the African Royalty themed look amidst great music and dance and off course some good food and drinks.
On Saturday, there was a fashion pop up at Impact Hub followed by NOTE Cosmetics Beauty Masterclass. It was also followed by a Private Fashion Presentation by HAZZA at the Shop Accra. Then back to Impact hub for the Ethical Exhibition. This evening of art and music arts of works done and curated by Debonair Afrik and some other artists.
Sunday was the finale which was packed with loads of exciting activities at Accra City Hotel. It first started with the Photography Masterclass dubbed “The Art of Fashion Photography” hosted by Duke Quarshie of Duke Photography. This was followed by the Street Styles and then the Collection Presentation Showcase.
The Fashion Show started with the Interns Showcase after which the carefully curated designers took turns to showcase their creativity on the runway. Designers included Mxdonna, Bushai Weave, Alleluia, Tiag Couture, Olooh, Afriken by Nana. The other designers included Groomsmen, Steve French, February by Serwaa, Atto Tetteh, Ekua Addo, Sena Bryte with finale by Diva Delicious.
It was indeed an awesomely packed weekend for many of us who love fashion and style in the capital. It was also a great time to network with other industry players while picking some few lessons in style and fashion. Hopefully next year, we will be attending with our A-style game on.
Yvette Osei Wins Face Of GCUC ’19.
The 2019 edition of the Face Of Garden City University College (GCUC) came off over the weekend and Yvette Osei, a bachelor of science in Nursing student nabbed the crown.
The annual event which came off on the 5th of March in Kumasi at the Royal Lamerta Hotel, located at Ahodwo, had 8 beautiful contestants who battled it out and answered questions from a panel of judges.
After a series of rounds, Yvette Osei, a bachelor of science in Nursing student was adjudged the winner for the night amidst loud applause from the student crowd.
It was a sight to behold as Yvette was crowned alongside two others who came up as first and second runner ups respectively.
Congratulations to the winners and we wish them all the best in their endeavors.
