Sarkodie Joins Samini, Wanluv Kubulor To Speak At 2019 ACCES Music Conference.

The multi award-winning rapper will be at the pan-African music trade event to share his rich experience as a leading figure in the Ghanaian and African music industry.

The ‘Saara’ hitmaker will take part in ACCES’ popular Conversations series alongside Ditto Music founder and CEO Lee Parsons, in a session that will focus on Sarkodie’s career as an artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist. The discussion will address such areas as music distribution, management, branding and collaborations, among others. It will also give Sarkodie an opportunity to share his views on the evolution of the music business on the continent in a global context.

The ACCES Conversations series have previously featured renowned music industry professionals like Mr Eazi, Blinky Bill, Blick Bassy and former Fela Kuti manager Rikki Stein.

Sarkodie will be at ACCES 2019, fresh from winning the Best International Flow Award at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards. He joins already confirmed speakers including Akon, fellow Ghanaian artists Samini and Wanlov the Kubolor as well as Chocolate City vice-president Aibee Abidoye (Nigeria), Boulevard Festival co-director Hicham Bahou (Morocco), TRUE Africa founder and editor-in-chief Claude Grunitzky (Togo/UK), Simfy OTT music services head Oye Akideinde (Nigeria), Boomplay Ghana manager Elizabeth Ntiamoah (Ghana), artist and music producer Kofi ‘IamBeatMenace’ Boachie-Ansah (Ghana) and Grammy-nominated musician, author and rights activist Mark Levine (US).

This year’s ACCES programme will feature more than 80 speakers from around the globe, and 13 bands from different African countries that will entertain delegates over the three days of the conference.

Accra To Host Young African Leaders Summit – 2019.

Hundreds of emerging young leaders from across Africa, will from November 22-23, gather in Accra Ghana for the maiden Young African Leaders Summit (YALS2019).

The Summit will collate ideas from some of the continent’s finest youth figures and aggregate them into relevant themes able to shape policy on the continent. Participants will engage on issues spanning multiple areas including political, social, economic, cultural, and business disciplines.

The Young Politicians and Leaders Network (YPLN), the organising body aims to leverage on this avenue to bring together policy makers, young entrepreneurs, business executives, professionals and start-ups, to discuss various topical issues that pertain to economic empowerment, leadership, and entrepreneurship development.

It is intended to maximise the impact of efforts at grooming these cohorts of leaders.

The event, expected to be graced by immediate-past President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama is scheduled for the Accra Digital Centre is themed, “Securing the Future of Africa; the Role of the African Youth, Young Business Leaders And Entrepreneurs”.

Banky W. To Deliver Keynote Address At ACCES 2019.

Prolific Nigerian musician Banky W will join more than 80 prominent speakers at this year’s Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES) in Accra, Ghana, from 28 to 30 November. He will take part in the ACCES Conversations series where he will talk about his immense involvement in the Nigerian entertainment industry as well as his entrepreneurial and philanthropic activities.

This year’s event will host informative panel discussions, networking sessions, exhibitions and showcases by artists from across the African continent and diaspora.

Born Olubankole Wellington in 1981, Banky W grew up between Nigeria and the US where he launched his music career after co-founding the Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E.) record label in 2002 while studying at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York state. In 2009, he moved to Nigeria and established the label in Lagos where he signed WizkidNiyola, Shaydee and Skales.

Banky W’s own music career gained momentum in 2005 following the release of his Back in the Building debut album. Other albums by the ‘All I Want Is You’ hitmaker include Mr. Capable (2008), The W Experience (2009) and R&BW (2013).

He is the founder of I Am Capable, a scholarship that seeks to provide tuition fees for underprivileged pupils who meet the requirements to study at private universities. He is also involved in the Light Up Nigeria project, which aims to encourage the Nigerian government to provide steady electricity in the country.

Jon Germain, Others To Host Radio & TV Masterclass On November 28th.

Celebrated Ghanaian broadcaster Jon Germain will on Thursday November 28, 2019 host a Radio/TV personality Master Class at Swiss Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, Accra.

According to Jon Germain, who is spearheading the initiative, though the current generation of media practitioners are doing well but needs more training. The desire to see young people excel in the media space motivated him to start an initiative like this.

Speaking to him, he said, “I want to pass on the knowledge i have acquired as a media practitioner for over a decade to the new generation during my master class. In the past before you are given the opportunity to speak on radio or TV, you have to go through training and have a great voice in order to sound awesome and captivating for both listeners and viewers. But in recent times radio presenters do more music than speaking”

He added that at his master class which is targeting anyone aspiring to have a career in  broadcasting or a practicing it, all nagging questions about the media landscape  will be answered

The event will have other seasoned speakers which include; business mogul Prince Kofi Amoabeng, award winning broadcaster Kafui Dey as well as branding/ marketing expert Jeff Sowah who will provide valuable insights that will give you the tools to make the right decisions for a successful career in radio and TV.

The ace media broadcaster Jon Germain will also share his over 23 years of experience in broadcasting to his audience and also talk about other important topics that needs attention.

International music icon and humanitarian activist, Rocky Dawuni has been billed for a program titled "Music and Chai" with Rocky Dawuni which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 9,2019 at Broiche,the Alchemist in Nairobi.

Music and Chai is an intimate afternoon-tea event, hosted by Sadz Ibrahim and the goal of this event is to educate the young and upcoming musicians about the value of failures and breaking the stereotype of overnight success in the music industry.

Rocky Dawuni is expected to thrill fans with his usual top-notch live performance and also share insights on music and his artistic journey.

The Ghanaian who currently lives in Los Angeles is one of the known and respected musicians in Ghana, Africa and many parts of the world due to his exceptional song writing skills, energetic performances and his humanitarian activism.

Rocky Dawuni calls his style of music 'Afro roots' which is the combination of Raggae, Afrobeat and Ghanaian indegineous music, highlife.

Rocky Dawuni has recorded seven full-length albums by 2019. In 2015, his sixth studio album titled 'Branches of The Same Tree' was nominated at world most reputable music awards scheme, Grammys as the Best Reggae Album of the year.

His stature as a cultural diplomat and successful melding of music and activism have led him to become a spokesperson for various global causes. He is now a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Africa for UN Environment and also a Global Ambassador for the UN Foundation's Clean Cooking Alliance alongside actress Julia Roberts and Chef José Andrés.
