Since the MTV Movie & TV Awards chose to start the whole night with the Most Frightened Performance award, we kind of expected it to be ~spooky~. But it was actually pretty moving, thanks to the winner Sandra Bullock.
Instead of using the spotlight to invoke Halloween, Sandra dug deep like the A-lister she is, mentioning her two children and explaining why she took on the role in Bird Box that won her the award in the first place.
“I made Bird Box because my children asked me why I never made anything for them. So when Bird Box crossed my path, I knew this was a story I needed to make because it was about family. And when I finished the film, I went to my babies and I said, ‘Here, mommy made this for you. And even though you can’t see it until you’re 21—because apparently a movie about being a mommy is a horror film—you will know when you see it that there isn’t anything that I wouldn’t do for you.”
Wow, don’t mind me, I’ll just be over here wiping away my tears. Sandra’s sentiment is beautiful, and she made sure to relay it to her kids… who somehow weren’t as impressed as everyone else.
“And when I was finished, my son looked at me with his big, beautiful eyes and he said, ‘Mommy, it was superhero movies I was talking about. Those are the films you should be making. Superheroes are the ones doing the important work right now.’ I grounded him,” she joked.

“Desperate Actresses Give Sex To Get The Lead Role. – Vicky Zugah
Actress Vicky Zugah has revealed that most up and coming actresses, who are very desperate to get to the top, easily give in to sexual advances from movie producers and directors.
The actress noted that the phenomenon of sex for roles is a growing canker in the movie industry and producers are using that to take advantage of young actresses.
Speaking in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM Saturday, Vicky noted the issue is on the rise and it is absolutely strange if a director does not ask an actress for sex for a role.
“Sex for roles in the movie industry is very real. I won’t lie about. It’s happened, it’s happening and it will happen again tomorrow and it’s normal,” she said.
The ‘My Darling Princess’ actress explained that, “If you are a woman and you are in the industry and no one is asking you out like a producer, a director or someone who is in charge isn’t asking you for sex then there is something wrong with you, this is what I think because men are attracted to what they see. If you are a fine girl, they will definitely ask you for something.”
She revealed that “Some [up and coming actresses] who are very desperate, they like to get to the top in a minute so they give it out to get what they want so it’s very real.”
With over a decade’s experience in the movie industry, Vicky Zugah disclosed that several directors and producers have demanded sex from her before they give her a role.
Asked if she has ever given in to any of the advances, she responded in the negative and said in “most cases I lose the role.”
The mother of two, however, admitted that she has had sexual relation with a director but not for a role. “He did a lot of jobs without me” because they are some roles that did not fit her.
“You don’t have to necessarily put people in a movie just because you are sleeping with them or you are dating them it’s not right. This one of the reasons the industry is not progressing,” Vicky lamented.
She strongly noted that most big movies feature actresses who have slept with directors or producers and therefore do not deserve their roles.
“You see some people playing a certain kind of role that they don’t fit in,” she stated.
The actress, who also revealed that some directors and producers demand cash for roles, advised up and coming actress that, “if you want to get to the top, work hard.”
She was emphatic that sleeping with directors does not guarantee that they will be cast for a role.
LION KING; THE GIFT: “They Messed The Music Up. – Elton John Criticizes Movie Soundtracks.
In a new interview with British GQ, Elton John shared some choice words about this year’s remake of The Lion King, which starred Beyoncé, Donald Glover, and more. “The new version of The Lion King was a huge disappointment to me, because I believe they messed the music up,” he said. After providing songs for the 1994 film, John added, “Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn’t have the same impact. The magic and joy were lost.”
John continued, “The soundtrack hasn’t had nearly the same impact in the charts that it had 25 years ago, when it was the bestselling album of the year,” he said. “The new soundtrack fell out of the charts so quickly, despite the massive box-office success.”
In addition to the new film’s standard soundtrack—which featured John’s previous compositions like “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” as well as his new original “Never Too Late”—a companion album, The Lion King: The Gift, was released. It was curated by Beyoncé and featured Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, Tierra Whack, Childish Gambino, and more.

Eddie Murphy Poses With All 10 Of His Kids For The First Time.
A good looking bunch! Eddie Murphy’s, daughter, Bria, sent Instagram into a frenzy when she shared a Christmas photo of the 57-year-old comedian posing with all 10 of his children. It marked the family’s first public photo together.
In the portrait, the Beverly Hills Cop actor held Izzy, 2, while Butcher cradled their sleeping 3-week-old son, Charlie. The parents were surrounded by their moms and Murphy’s children from previous relationships: Eric, 29, Christian, 28, Angel, 11, Bella, 16, Zola, 19, Shayne, and Miles, 26.
Earlier this month, Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Los Angeles-based Murphy is caring for Angel while her mother, Mel B, recovers from emergency for two broken ribs in England. “Angel is very well cared for,” a source told Us at the time. “Eddie and Angel have been spending a lot of time together in recent months.”
The Spice Girls singer and Murphy dated for nine months in 2006. When the Brit became pregnant with Angel, Murphy demanded a DNA paternity test, which confirmed he was the father. But the exes have come a long way since then.
“He’s such a loving, caring, respectful person,” the America’s Got Talent judge gushed on Steve Harvey’s syndicated talk show in December. “It took a while to get there because we broke up not in the happiest circumstances.”
Murphy and Butcher starred in Big Momma’s House 2 in 2006, but they did not start dating until six years later. The Coming to America actor’s rep confirmed to Us in September 2018 that the pair were engaged.
Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt Go Wild In First Jungle Cruise Trailer.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are ready to welcome you to the jungle. The pair star in the first trailer for Disney’s Jungle Cruise, an early 20th-century adventure that follows riverboat captain Frank (Johnson) and scientist Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt) as they venture into the wilderness.
Neither Johnson nor Blunt are strangers to the Disney family — he voiced Maui in 2016’s Moana, while she played the magical nanny in last year’s Mary Poppins Returns — and Jungle Cruise is based on one of Disney’s oldest and most enduring properties. The original Jungle Cruise Disneyland ride opened in 1955, and during Disney’s D23 Expo in August, both Johnson and Blunt promised an adventure that puts a new spin on the ride (think Pirates of the Caribbean meets Indiana Jones).
“We’re just so moved, so honored to be in a movie like this because we both grew up madly in love with Indiana Jones, Romancing the Stone,” Blunt said onstage at D23. “So to be a part of something like, this same spirit, just makes my heart race.”
The Shallows’ Jaume Collet-Serra directs Jungle Cruise, which also stars Jack Whitehall, Edgar Ramirez, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. It’ll, um, cruise into theaters July 24, 2020.
