One could imagine how creative a
Musician can be, blending both comedy with very touching REAL LIFE touching
issues in a video. Samini just gave us that in #Obra official video, starring
popular Ghanaian actor, Lil Win, for a lead role.
Watch “Obra” Video here:
“Ɔbra yɛ ɔko” literally
means Life is war [Conceptual Metaphor]
Here SAMINI [Recording &
Performing Artiste] describes a story of sheer betrayal of trust.
In this personified plot, A
Ghanaian immigrant to the West trusted his friend and put him in control of his
property whilst he hustled in the cold and all related difficulties to make
sure his life would be better on his return home.
Surprisingly on his return, he
meets nothing done in his name including his building he had paid his friend to
finish. His money had been used by his friend to his own benefit. He had even
married his wife he left behind on top. All his sweat resulted to nothing, that
What a wicked world! He would need
to start from the bottom again. “Life is war” indeed!
Enjoy Obra. The 5th record on
Samini’s Billboard-Charted 7th Studio Album, UNTAMED. The Album also made
history as the first Album by an African to win “@reggaeville Album of the
Year 2018” [Recieved in Jan 2019] two weeks after its release on Dec. 22,
Video features Kumawood actors, Lil
Win and Vivian Jill. Video was shot and directed by Yaw Skyface across various
locations in Ghana.
Feli Nuna Releases The Performance Video For “Azumah”, Remix.
Feli just released ‘Azumah Remix’, a vibrant Afrobeat Dance track featuring Quamina MP.
Growing up Feli was teased a lot about her physical appearance which was different from most girls at her age. She was made to believe her teeth weren’t perfect, her legs too skinny or body not curvy enough. To help other girls not go through what she did, she’s come up with a song that targets the issue of body positivity, Azumah.
As part of her campaign to incite confidence and self-love, Feli released ‘Azumah Remix’. Feli believes staying in shape is key on the journey to self-love, hence the artwork shows Feli’s fists encased in boxing gloves, paying homage to Africa’s greatest boxer, Azumah Nelson.
In the video, Feli is seen sparring with plus size women from TV3’s hit series ‘Di Asa’ and dancers in a boxing ring along with a colorfully-lit performance scene with Quamina MP.
Azumah is her first release under the management of Creatures, a collectective well known for unearthing and managing talents like Kojo-Cue, Kuvie and Pappykojo. Feli is ending this year with a bang because she intends to release an EP titled ‘Take Off’’ in the first quarter of next year.
Let’s see what Daavi Diva has in store. For now just shake your ‘Duna’ to this song. The video is available on all streaming platforms including www.afreetune.com.
Kofi Kinaata Premieres The Performance Video For “Things Fall Apart”
Takoradi-based hiplife artiste, Kofi Kinaata has finally released the long-awaited video for his song ‘Things Fall Apart’. The song became a hit immediately after its release in October 2019. Ghanaians on social media instantly pointed out scenarios in the song they can relate to in daily life.
The song, which questions whether people indeed are worshipping God as they claim, did not only excite fans but had them thinking twice about the life they live. Kofi Kinaata in the song is not afraid to call out people who behave like they are the perfect Christians to ever exist while committing the gravest of sins in their dark alleys.
The video is set in a church, in a club and also houses of some people who claim to be devout worshippers of God. The ladies and men find themselves in clubs partying and drinking like there is no tomorrow. A landlord, who basically behaves like the church is his, throws out a tenant with a child who has literally nowhere to go.
A rich man played by the host of Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM, Dr Pounds, refused to help this stranded woman when she knocked on his door but in church sprays money on the pastor like he owns the Central Bank of Ghana. In another scene, some boys playing a board game run away when they spot some preachers coming their way and a Muslim man steals shoes from the mosque after prayers.
‘Things Fall Apart,’ both the song and video, throws into the face of Ghanaians the pretentious lives they live while they try to convince people otherwise.
