Reggae Legends, THIRD WORLD, Announce New Album “More Work To Be Done”.

Published

on

Reggae Ambassadors Third World “celebrating 45 years” released their highly anticipated 22nd studio album titled More Work to Be Done on Friday, August 16, 2019. The album is produced by multi-Grammy-award winning artist/producer Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and features an incredible array of artists: Chronixx, Tarrus Riley, Busy Signal, Pressure Busspipe, Tessanne Chin and Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, courtesy of Ghetto Youths International.

“It certainly is full circle – our first tour back in 1975 was opening for Bob Marley and now in 2019 our latest project is produced by Bob Marley’s youngest son, Damian Marley. We call him nephew and this nephew of ours is out of the top drawer. Besides being a world class performer, he is an amazing producer, composer, songwriter and we whole-heartedly invite all music lovers to take a listen to the magic Gong and Third World created together. Yes, there is More Work to Be Done” says Stephen “Cat” Coore.

Established in 1973, Third World has transformed the way people experience reggae worldwide. The six-member band made their debut traveling in 1975 as an opening act for the Bob Marley & the Wailers’ World Tour. Since then the group has pioneered the genre with an extensive catalog of charted hits.

Awarded and recognized for their musical contribution by the National Black Arts and honored by the Caribbean American Heritage Awards. Third World are also recipients of the United Nations Peace Medal and received 10 Grammy nominations. This marks their first full studio album release since the passing of the group’s veteran vocalist William Clark, aka Bunny Rugs in 2014.

More Work to Be Done brings together sounds from every corner of the globe. Lead singer AJ Brown delivers smooth and powerful vocals with the accompaniment of the entire band’s harmonies throughout the album, bringing out that true signature Third World sound in every song.

With a touch of new flavor, inspired by the band’s vision and their producer and “nephew” Jr Gong, the album ranges from traditional to contemporary roots-reggae, lovers rock, jazz-infused rhythms to heavy hitting dancehall with driving bass; an 11-song masterpiece that demonstrates these accomplished musicians’ consistency, growth and transformation.

On Friday July 26th Third World released their third single featuring reggae star Chronixx. Highlighting the synergy of the artists, the single, titled “Na Na Na” delivers a great vibe to the angelic sound of Reggae music, allowing fans to sing along and dance in signature Third World form. The band released an official lyric video to accompany the single which is currently featured on the Ghetto Youths International YouTube channel.

More Work to Be Done was officially released on Friday August 16, 2019. The album is available on CD, cassette tape and vinyl on the band’s website and select retail outlets as well as on all digital platforms worldwide. For more information visit, thirdworldband.com.

MzVee And Lynx Entertainment Amicably Terminates Their Contract.

Published

on

Ghanaian owned talents management, recording and distribution hub, Lynx Entertainment Ghana Limited and signee, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda professionally known in the music world as MzVee have amicably agrred on terminating all healthy business engagements within their outfit..

According to a news release signed by the board and directors of Lynx Entertainment Ghana Limited, they, after eight years of successfully exploring the talent of their signee, there is a valuable need to alleviate the musician, MzVee off her duties to allocate her more time to reflect and peruse work done over the last decade.

This development comes at the back after there were series of rumours that her relationship with members at the label has gone sour. Others claimed the singer had gotten pregnant, went on a break to focus on herself and giving birth. Fans of MzVee have understandably had many questions about the artiste's year long absence from the music scene.

Contrary to those rumours propagated by some fans of MzVee and entertainment enthusiasts in the country's creative and arts industry, the talent management responsible for new artist recruitment and development (known as A&R), music publishing, and copyright enforcement stated in the News release that, MzVee went off the grid and took a sabbatical leave from active music to assess her output with the firm.

Boards and Directors of Lynx Entertainment Ghana Limited however expressed their gratitude to the Black Entertainment TV (BET) Awards nominee for elevating the record label's brand to the highest level with her energetic performances, soul soothing musics and profitable deals won under during her tenure service with the firm.

Lynx Ghana Limited is an entertainment company established to encompass all facets of entertainment in Ghana. The company was founded as an expansion of the already existing record label, Lynx Entertainment, which has attained a credible reputation across Africa by churning out a host of successful recording artists and a large number of hit songs over the past ten (10) years.

The Lynx Ghana management team consists of vibrant and insightful employees led by C.E.O and Creative Director Richie Mensah, who is renowned for his works as a sound producer, recording artist and successful record label executive.

The artist management team has over 10 years experience in developing and managing artists such as Asem, Richie Mensah, Eazzy, Irene Logan, OJ Blaq, Zigi, MzVee, KiDi and Kuami Eugene. The artists managed by Lynx have secured hit singles across Ghana and beyond, and achieved reputable brand status.

The record label, Lynx Entertainment, is arguably the biggest and most successful record label in Ghana with multiple national and international awards and nominations to its credit.

However in a simultaneous news release signed by MzVee, the artiste recounted how amazing it has been working with the record label, revealing that, the last eight years with the firm has been an absolutely significant stride in the discovery and evolution of her personality and talent, as none would have been possible without the extraordinary help and support from Lynx entertainment.

She revealed that, in affirming her solidaritory to the firm, Lynx entertainment has contributed and played a pivotal role in nurturing her talent. She added that, the record label will always be the a strong pillar in the creative and arts career with the last eight years being with the firm has been an absolutely delightful and blessing.

The "Come And See My Mother" hitmaker urged all event organizers and corporate entities that will interested in booking her talents for events and business enquiries to communicate it through her official channels, i.e, her official business mail address, the new management number and her social media handles.

The songstress, one the finest female acts on the continent, has several hit songs and awards to show for her work in the last eight (8) years. In fact, some pundits dare to call her the most successful female Ghanaian act in the last decade.  She has been under the tutelage of Richie Mensah from the inception of her career, to the formative stages till now.

MzVee burst onto the Ghanaian music scene in 2012 as a lead singer of the girl band D3. She later launched her solo career with hit single ‘Borkor Borkor’ in January 2014; and went on to become the first artiste to win the 'Unsung Artiste Award' at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards. The feat was followed with the release of her career defining single ‘Natural Girl’. She went on to release more hits including Daavi, Come and see my Moda, Rewind, Sing My Name and Bend Down.

MzVee worked with Lynx Entertainment for 8 years during which she released 3 studio albums; Re-vee-lation (2014), Verified (2015) and DaaVee (2017) and served as brand ambassador for Beta Malt, Marie Stopes International, UNICEF and other notable organizations. It is important to state that the two parties have separated amicably and will continue to support each other.
