Photos: Comedy Express Event Got Accra laughing Hard Last Friday

It was a night of great laughs and unending joy, as Ecstacy entertainment’s event, Comedy Express took place over the weekend at Eddy’s Pizza Osu branch. Ghana’s ‘King of Comedy’, last Friday July 6, 2018, hosted audience to a thrilling night of laughs and amazing giveaways with a very exciting comedy event from DJ sparkling and Huawei.

The show, which is now televised on Joy prime every Thursday 7:30pm saw a mammoth crowd trooping in to the venue for a night which would go down as the most memorable nights they’ve enjoyed yet. Every act billed to perform gave a stellar performance which has left a scar on the ribs of everyone who was in attendance.

In attendance were people from all walks of life; bankers, media persons, insurers etc.

Big names in the comedy scene now such as Comedian Khemikal, Lekzy DeComic, and Teekay gave an excellent performance. With their supporting acts, Comedian Waris, MJ the Comedian, David Crypto, Sportoo, Alowess and shaukiyatu also showing class and making names for themselves. DKB’s performance was the icing on the cake for the night and it was just the climax everyone needed to crown their stunning night with jokes on Anas, Nyantakyi, Shatta wale etc. and audience were treated to some exclusive music performance from highlife prodigy Sitso and rapper Don itchi.

Comedy Express Chalks Success As Counsellor Lutterodt Battles Akuapem Poloo Live On Stage.

Another exciting edition of Comedy Express happened over the weekend and it was all fun a patrons who troop in had the night of their lives. With an amazing line up of acts, the night was nothing short of utter brilliance climaxed with such much hilarity. The show which was dubbed “Adult Jokes 2” lived up to expectation as each all jokes performed by the billed acts were targeted for matured audience. Justice was done to the theme of the night and many of the patrons couldn’t help but laugh hysterically at the hilarious “Adult Jokes” each comedian shared.

Performances on the night were solid, the open mic acts each had impressive performances which shows how bright the future of comedy in Ghana is. DKB, Comedian OB, Khemikal, Id James Brown, Teekay, Comedian Waris, MJ the comedian, in turns brought the roof down with their rib splitting performances. There was also musical performances by Fresh One and Kobo Africa respectively to serenade the audience.

It wasn’t all laughs at the comedy show though, there was a little education that went on as well as celebrated and controversial Counsellor; Counsellor Lutterodt took centre stage to educate those present the secret to having a healthy sexual life. Even though it was a comedy show, the entire evening climaxed when Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo face offed with Counsellor Lutterodt live on stage, they went back and forth about many interesting things which led Ms Poloo to say the reason the counsellor doesn’t like her is because he (Counsellor Lutterodt) has a crush on her.

Comedy Express night was a very enjoyable one. There were lots of giveaways by partners of the show. Counselor Lutterodt Now A Comedian? Set To Feature On Feb. 2nd Comedy Express Edition.

The next edition of the most talked about monthly comedy show, Comedy Express is the reloaded edition of the adult jokes episode. Early December hosted the first ever adult jokes edition with mantras such as "no children allowed", "no pretenders allowed" and no hypocrites allowed" securing a very successful show with over flow. 

Comedy express first adult jokes edition wasn’t only about bedroom jokes but the audience were given an opportunity to enjoy free sexual health education from a qualified doctor with St. John's fertility hospital. As the saying goes "if it's nice, you play it twice" is the essence why the reloaded edition is upcoming due to popular request.

Question have been risen to ask if the controversial Counsellor is finally adding the name ‘comedian’ to his C.V. is counsellor Lutterodt finally going to be a comedian?

Attempts to reach him for clarification has been quite futile as he declined to speak but rather affirmed that "you will see what I will do on the show when it happens". Further checks with the show organizers gives a rough idea of counselor Lutterodt sharing tutelage on marriage and sex.

The show in its existence has grown because of the outstanding performances of the billed comedians. With each passing show, the comedians deliver world class performances for the patrons giving them their monies worth. Comedian Warris To Speak Your Mind With “On The Behalf Series”

Budding but impactful Ghanaian comedian born Abdul Waris Umaru readies to commence a comedy series dubbed “On The Behalf Series” which will touch on current and trending issues in the country.

Comedy in Ghana has seen a face lift in the past decade and getting better as the days roll by. There has also been the emergence of tones of comedy related shows, but this is one of its kind and is intended to get you annoyed comically.

Since the inception of his career to becoming an international comic star, Warris has performed on many platforms like; Comedy Express, which was organized by DKB, Laughline Comedy Show, Laugh Kitchen Comedy Show, Music Magic and Comedy which was live on ETV GH and April Fools Comedy Show among others.

“Comedy has never been easy, but God`s grace, determination and the kind of passion we have is what is holding us in the industry, ” he said as he touches on what has kept him going as a young comedian.

On revealing his reason for this new show, he motioned, “The love of putting back smile on someone`s face, the joy of giving someone a memory and the joy of giving people a reason to live is what also keeps us working hard.”

As a standup comic, Warris has ever always made it clear through his outstanding art that it is his job to make sure the majority of people laugh, and he believes that comedy is the last true form of free speech.

Comedy Express 2 Sold Out Shows On New Year Night Was By The Help Of Tesori Perfumes – DKB

Comedy express the premium monthly comedy show started the year on a very successful note inside their regular venue, cockpit lounge – Achimota mall. The show which has been running for a while now has had many successful editions to its credit. Created by the King of Comedy, Derick Kobina Bonney (DKB), the show witnessed for the very first time, two shows being held on one night.

 DKB who was excited by the turn of events couldn’t stop thanking Tesori Perfumes for their support to the show enabling him host two shows on the night. The thankful comedian couldn’t help but acknowledge that even though individually, the comedy industry has been able to hold down its fort the financial assistance from Tesori Perfumes helped push organizes to run multiple ads on social media plus cater for certain need that made the show a massive success. 

The comedians billed on the show did amazingly well. Back to back, each comedian did justice to the audience with their rib cracking jokes. Preforming on the night was DKB, OB, Lekzy, Waris, Putogo, Sportoo, Crypto and hosted by MJ the comedian.

“We were a bit scared when we tried to do two shows a night, that’s 6pm and 9pm. Tesori Perfumes supported the show, and with that support, we were able to run multiple sponsored ads on social media, print more fliers and this resulted to the over patronage of the show. Both shows 6pm and 9pm respectively were both successful witnessing a lot of people patronizing with sitting areas running out..

 I would like to thank Tesori Perfumes, for if it hadn’t been for them, we would not have had the ability to widen the scope of our publicity and also to Joy Prime for being a solid partner for Comedy Express DKB said. Icing on the show was when they [Tesori Perfume] gave out a bottle each to all that come through the show, giving everyone the chance to try their product.
