The management of musician Fancy Gadam have appealed to the organizers of the Northern Entertainment Awards (NEA) to change date since it clashes with that of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The award which started three years ago was with the main aim to recognise the hard working artiste within the three northern regions.
During the maiden edition, Fancy Gadam was crowned the artiste of the year for the north and also the overall artiste of the year for the three northern regions.
Last year, Fancy who was also nominated for the VGMA couldn't take part because voting for VGMA and NEA was ongoing at the same time and he didn't want to confuse the fans as to which one to vote for.
It’s unfortunate this has happened again as NEA and VGMA is happening at the same time but this time Fancy Gadam and his management had to take the risk by taking part in both since they believe supporting the award scheme was paramount.
His team took the opportunity to appeal to organizers of the award scheme to look into the timing so as to avoid NEA always crushing with VGMA since some of the northern base artiste are also getting nominations in VGMA.
This year Fancy Gadam filed for two categories (artiste of the year north and overall artiste of the year for three northern regions ).
