TV Africa with the tag line “the talking drum of Africa”, is a Ghanaian owned television station founded in 1995 by Kwaw Paintsil Ansah a renowned film maker. With 15 years of experience in the space, ownership changed hands after 13 years of operation under the old management. Groupe Ideal, a private financial holding company then acquired the majority share and set rolling a grand re-branding agenda to aid position TV Africa as a competitive brand.
The 2018 face of the re-branding came with a re-branding of on-air programing and personalities. To enhance viewer coverage, the new TV Africa will soon role out a nationwide digital terrestrial transmission (DTT) later in the year, they have also strengthened their reach and service experience across Ghana. There has also been an expansion in the analogue transmission capacity from 2,000 Kilowatts to 10,000 Kilowatts in the Greater Accra Region, and from 1,000 Kilowatts to 5,000 kilowatts in the Ashanti Region. Transmission in other regions has also been further boosted.
