Joey B Recruits Boj On “No Waste Time” Music Video.

PREMIERE: Head to the southeast coast of Ghana in this new music video from buzzing Ghanaian act Joey B featuring Boj. Joey B comes through with the new music video and single for “No Waste Time,” his collaboration with Boj of DRB LasGidi.

“No Waste Time” sees Joey B—who’s track “Stables” alongside La Même Gang was one of The Best Ghanaian Songs of 2018—connecting with Nigeria’s Boj over a head-nodding mid-tempo beat from Altra Nova.

“‘No Waste Time’ was a fast collaboration that happened while BOJ and I were looking to work for the second time. We ‘no waste time’ (haha),” Joey B tells OkayAfrica. “Our styles are quite similar so it was a breeze, with production by the phenomenal Altra Nova.”

The single’s new music video, which we’re premiering here today, follows both artists to Ada, in the southeast coast of Ghana, through a sun-filled day and night at the beach. The video was created by Youngtrepreneurs, a non-profit organization that provides workshops and job opportunities to young creators in Ghana.

“Director RQA, an emerging director, was selected to shoot the video through a filmmaking workshop by Youngtrepreneurs, an initiative started by Scilla Owusu, a young Ghanaian creative with a passion for pushing pop culture and art,” Joey B continues.

Kofi Kinaata Premieres The Performance Video For “Things Fall Apart”

Takoradi-based hiplife artiste, Kofi Kinaata has finally released the long-awaited video for his song ‘Things Fall Apart’. The song became a hit immediately after its release in October 2019. Ghanaians on social media instantly pointed out scenarios in the song they can relate to in daily life.

The song, which questions whether people indeed are worshipping God as they claim, did not only excite fans but had them thinking twice about the life they live. Kofi Kinaata in the song is not afraid to call out people who behave like they are the perfect Christians to ever exist while committing the gravest of sins in their dark alleys.

The video is set in a church, in a club and also houses of some people who claim to be devout worshippers of God. The ladies and men find themselves in clubs partying and drinking like there is no tomorrow. A landlord, who basically behaves like the church is his, throws out a tenant with a child who has literally nowhere to go.

A rich man played by the host of Hitz Gallery on Hitz FM, Dr Pounds, refused to help this stranded woman when she knocked on his door but in church sprays money on the pastor like he owns the Central Bank of Ghana. In another scene, some boys playing a board game run away when they spot some preachers coming their way and a Muslim man steals shoes from the mosque after prayers.

‘Things Fall Apart,’ both the song and video, throws into the face of Ghanaians the pretentious lives they live while they try to convince people otherwise.
