It’s Official, J.J Gonami Pens 5 Years Recording Deal With Aborigines Promotions.



Ghanaian born Afrobeats genre of music
artiste, Jacob Gonami Agbenuvor, professionally known within the entertainment
circles as, J.J Gonami has officially signed a 5 years music recording and
distribution deal with Ghanaian based record label, Aborigines Promotions.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of
Aborigines Promotions and Aborigines Beach Resort, Mitch Woollams the record
label will work with Ghanaian Recording Artist, Entertainer and a Song writer
for the next 5 years adding that, its going to be a 360 [business] relationship
where the record label entity will be taking care of the recordings,
distribution and marketing of the performer’s products.

The signing of the “See Them Empire”
President, was slated for 8th June, 2019 at the Aborigines Beach Resort Hotel,
Keta, Volta Region. The signing bird-nest the presence of executive of ”See
Them Empire” movement, Gilbert Attipoe (Co-manager), Evans Kpodo (Public
Relation Officer) and some mass communication traditional media, including
newspaper, television and radio; journalist and other related professionals

Mr. Mitch Woollams stated that, perseverance,
stage craft, consistency and the talent quality of the sensational singers are
the factors of interest and motivation to sign him, since he has been under his
monitoring lenses for the past 4 years.

Despite the monetary value of the five(5)
years deal is agreed to be made unknown to the general public, Aborigines
Promotion is taking a full responsibility of the artiste including
accommodation for the entire contractual period.

Aborigines Promotions, known for promoting
sporting event and now music, is focused on scaling operations to meet the
rapidly growing international demand for African music, on growing its roster
and on strengthening its services across A&R, touring, marketing,
distribution, publishing and partnerships.

Aborigines Beach Resort is established in the
early 2000s and can through series of expansion boast of 28rooms consisting of
executive, twin and standard deluxe located in Keta, Volta Region of Ghana. The
Hotel is situated within nice and well laid grounds with summer huts and
contemporary style, capturing its original Elegance, luxury, and superb

dedication to the work at hand and reiterating his allegiance and declared his
unflinching solidarity to serve and elevate the brand.

Ekpe, however urged all mass communication
traditional media to defy all odds to promote the undiluted talent and products
of J.J Gonami, explaining that, the industry will see a positive growth, should
media practitioners create a cool ambiance that will embolden all performing
artistes to elevate the Ghanaian culture through music.

EMY AWARDS’19: Boris Kodjoe, Dr. Ofori Sarpong, Dentaa Others Win Big At 2019 EMY Africa Awards



The 2019 edition of the prestigious Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards was held on Saturday night at the plush Kempinski Hotel in Accra where a number of influential personalities were honoured for contributions towards society.

Chief Executive officer of Special Ice Company, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong was the biggest winner at the event after going home with the Ultimate Man of the Year award.

Since 2016, the EMY Africa award has celebrated the best in men’s achievements across local industry, community, culture and public service. Dozens of men and personalities from all ages and walks of life have been honoured for their abilities, initiatives and contributions to society.

Saturday night event was attended by a number personalities. Among them were Nadia Buari, Gloria Safo, Zynnell Zuh, Samera Buari, KOD, Regina Van Helvert and a host of others.

The rest of other winners at the event included, the Chief Imam Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu who was crowned with a Life Time Achievement award, Veteran Administration of Ghana was honoured with the Men’s Group of the Year award. Man of Courage award went to visually impaired journalist, Paul Anomhah Kordien and the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Ian Walker who annexed the inaugural EMY’s Commonwealth Development award.

Magnate Award (Man of The Year-Business) went to Daniel Mckorley while Diasporan award to Ghanaian American actor Boris Kodjoe. The outstanding Woman of the Year went to Madam Patricia Poku, the CEO of Plot Enterprise Group in Ivory Coast and Ghana which is a cocoa processing company. Mr. Torgbor Mensah also went home with Media Excellence Award among others.

BET Awards’19: Cardi B, Migos and Burna Boy win top prizes.



Regina Hall hosted the 19th annual BET Awards ceremony, which aired live from the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (23 June) in downtown Los Angeles across seven Viacom networks in the U.S., including BET, BET HER, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Classic, VH1 and Logo.

The show kicked off with a special performance from lead BET nominee Cardi B, who took the stage with husband Offset and a gaggle of dancers for their rendition of her hit tracks “Clout” and “Press.” with other performances including chart-toppers Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus performing their hit song “Old Town Road,” Lizzo’s rendition of “Truth Hurts,” and a medley of hits from Mary J Blige.

Cardi is nominated for 7 awards including Album of the Year, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and Best Collaboration category for her songs with Bruno Mars on “Please Me,” and Bad Bunny and J. Balvin on “I Like It.” She won five BET Awards in 2017 and four during the 2018 celebration.

Following Cardi’s lead is hip-hop superstar Drake, who is nominated for five awards including Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration for his track “Sicko Mode” with Travis Scott, and Best Video.

Other nominees included Beyonce, J. Cole, Childish Gambino, Issa Rae, Stephen Curry, and Lizzo.Mary J. Blige was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Tyler Perry was presented with the Ultimate Icon Award.

Tyler Perry was honoured with the Ultimate Icon award, while Mary J Blige received the Lifetime Achievement Award after performing a medley of her greatest hits.

Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle was given a posthumous Humanitarian Award to honour his work as an entrepreneur and community activist. Nipsey Hussle, who was murdered on March 31, was remembered throughout the pre-show by heavy hitters like John Legend, Lil’ Kim, and DJ Khaled. BET even opted to use a blue carpet in honour of the slain rapper.

Burna Boy won the Best International Act, which was accepted by his mother/manager who gave a powerful acceptance speech.
