After the inception of the youth choir that saw them deliver great dexterity in their endeavor within and outside its jurisdiction, Ghanaian based youth choir, Heavenly Jewels began the year with an exclusive concert at the Christ the King Parish Hall, to climax their inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony of the youth choir was staged at an estimated 1,000 capacity venue, Christ The King Parish Hall, Cantoments-Accra, which was filled beyond the max and was themed”Delighting Our Maker With Our Strings and Voices”
Heavenly Jewels was formed in the year 2017. Now with more than 100 members, it is one of the most versatile choirs in the country at the moment, with their mission, to propagate the gospel of Christ through Choral Music backed by an orchestra.
The inaugural service of the youth choir attracted some Ghanaian elite, the Chief of Akwamu Adumasa Nana Ansah Kwao IV and provided a cool calm ambiance to go with the non-stop music provided by the Heavenly Jewels Youth Choir.
The inauguration of Heavenly Jewels Youth Choir witnessed some number of supporting performances from Achimota Youth Choir and Adjumako Youth Choir who entertained Gospel fanatics with some soul touching and songs of the saints.
Other elite youth choir, Winneba Youth Choir and Zamar Band also got a slot to deliver their undiluted talents to the reserved christ lovers and audience before the crowd roared in excitement to welcome the newly inaugurated, Heavenly Jewels and their crew who climaxed the night with their top-notch performances.
The inaugural service was a rather unique offering to christ like disciples who have been eagerly anticipating this event, as it provided Gospel fanatics the opportunity to experience the presence of God through their harmonic and melodious tunes.
The event, however, did not disappoint, with Heavenly Jewels providing an electric performance that came in three folds, The drama session that told the history of the word Apatampa, the highlife session and the soul soothing session, living uneraseable memories on the minds of the saints who were present.
The touching scene of the inauguration ceremony was when, all the invited youth choir, Achimota Youth Choir, Zamar Band, Adjumako Youth Choir, Winneba Youth Choir and Heavenly Jewels massed up together on stage to display a sign of unity within all youth choir in the country.
HERO CONCERT: Kuami Eugene Restores Highlife Music On The Event Night.
As at some point in time, within the Ghanaian entertainment ecosystem, the indigenous Ghanaian genre of music, that is, the highlife music suffered a heavy blow as competing genres such as reggae-dancehall, afrobeat, hip hop, hip life etc. has become more appealing to the Ghanaian entertainment patrons, or fanatics. But the narrative has been changed for the better as sensational musician, Kuami Eugene's timely intervention salvaged the highlife genre of music from it competitors.
On the 4th of October, 2019, christened Eugene Kwame Marfo hosted legendary highlife musician, Rex Omar and highlife music fanatics, including a section of the traditional mass communication media, writers, and social media commentators to stage the maiden edition of an annual two hour highlife music concert dubbed, "Hero Concert" at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, in Accra. The event, powered by SLIP Entertainment, in partnership with talent hub, recording and distribution label, Lynx Entertainment witnessed patrons from both the local front and the diaspora who amassed in an overwhelming numbers to be served accordingly. The "Hero Concert" primitively began with an introductory performance from the High School Band who watered the grounds with their artistry prowess and dexterity.
Revelers at the show grooved their sweat off when the Ghanaian celebrated performing act took to stage as he gave a splendid performance on backed by an electrifying and live band music which was virtually enjoyed by all patrons who trooped in to witness the highlife artiste. Kuami Eugene and his band started off from the outset with songs popular here and the crowd was ruptured in ecstasy. His performance on the night compelled the European folks, to adjust to flamy environment created by the indigenous fans of the music star, as he performed most songs on his album.
The event came in three folds, the indigenous highlife section, contemporary highlife and borga highlife section. Kuami mounted the stage to deliver the first set of highlife music. He performed tunes from some Ghanaian highlife musicians such as, "Damebi", "Wo da nda", "Sisi Maame", "Theresa", Kwan Kwan eee", "Highlife time", "Osobokyere". His performance was really accurate and intense as patrons were all up, grinding and grooving to the tunes. His vocal dexterity was in synchronization with the environment that cause an uproar on the night.
"Kwani Kwani", "Ohemaa", No More", "Baby Girl", "Walahi", were his own composed songs that were dished out from his catalogue. His performance created cool ambiance for most of the reserved fans to jam along. Kuami Eugene's craft lived up to expectation irrespective of the short minutes he was on stage.
Legendary, Rex Omar was up on was on stage to continue to kindle the burning flames that was lit up by Kuami Eugene. Rex Omar served the audience with some evergreen tunes. The concert goers became excited when the veteran higlife musician performed his "Abiba" tune. The event got thrilling when Eugene joined Rex Omar to perform his "Angela" tune. Sensational highlife artiste, Kidi’s presence was felt amidst the ostentatious Hero musical concert. He performed a host of songs with the Rock Star. UCC Gets A Colourful Experience With Kojo Manuel
The event which was hosted by Kojo Manuel, brought students out as early as 7am on a Saturday morning to jam in colour and party with the La Meme Gang! With music provided by the iPhone DJ, the music was top notch! The Azonto Twins were also present with their energetic moves.Social media was taken over with various colourful pictures and videos from the event which ended at10:30 am as students hailed Rexona for an awesome event.
The most intriguing aspect of the event was when Kojo Manuel had the crowd all jumping with splashes
of colour all round, staining the white shirt everyone had on but no one seemed to care as they jumped
in complete ecstasy and euphoria! This further cements Kojo Manuel as the best party MC so far!
Kojo Manuel Makes a Mark at Repu 2019
Once again, the biggest tertiary hall week celebrations came around and attracted people from all corners of the country.With events ranging from car washes, dogs shows, marathons, basketball tournaments,electrifying concerts and absolutely insane parties and raves.The most popular of these events were hosted by the phenomenal Kojo Manuel from the 15-
year old Epilogo party through Orjinal Beats jams and the Vodafone X Concert with featured Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono, La Meme Gang and Dope Nation. Also, hosted various off campus events.
Working closely with DJs like Neizer, Sleek, Aroma, iPhone DJ and others, Manny Yo further established himself as the rave master and TurnUp General as he drove the crowd through various brand activations and products to energetically jamming with the KNUST crowd. Safe to say, if you were at Repu 2019, you mostly likely jammed with Kojo Manuel at at least
one or two events.
