A brand new TV reality show, Dwaso Hemaa, targeted at celebrating the outstanding and innovative efforts of the Ghanaian woman, especially the market women has been dully launched at Mallam Atta market in Accra, under the theme – ‘energy that shows’. The show will broadcast weekly on Adom TV.
The unique concept, which is a brainchild of Nubuke Media, will bring together participants from various market destinations in Ghana to exhibit various attributes for the grand winner — Dwaso Hemaa.
“Dwaso Hemaa reality TV show is not just any other TV reality show but one that seeks to bring the best quality out of our Ghanaian women especially our market women by giving them the platform to express our rich Ghanaian culture and tradition while training them to be more innovative in our world today.
We will also provide the platform for these women to share their expertise in marketing share their long years of experience and also share their unique stories as well as issues bugging them” – Esi Akpanyah, CEO of Nubuke Media.
The show will begin with an auditioning from the various selected markets across the country and the selected few will go through a 13week contest which would include various tasks and each week at least one contestant will be eliminated and that will eventually lead to the crowning of a market Queen or Dwaso Hemaa .
The event will be held under the theme: “ahuoden a’ekyere ”, which will highlight and trigger conversations about women empowerment, entrepreneurship, financial freedom and investment as well as health and wellness.
Speaking to a gathering of market women at the launch, communication director for Dwaso Hemaa, Mr Kelly Ni Lartey Mensah explained that, the event is geared towards using market women as models of change. “We are highlighting on your complete strength and innovative ways of doing business to teach the next generation of women through television” – Kelly Mensah stressed.
MC for the launch, celebrated television host and media personality, Cynthia “kumkum” Timaa took the women through routines of singing and dancing before unveiling the Dwaso Hemaa logo.

Grace Eyim orange queen mother at Mallam Atta market.

Okyeame Kwame To Launch ‘Made in Ghana’ Album On April 20 At +233 Bar.
The 'Best Rapper Alive', Okyeame Kwame will be launching his 'Made in Ghana' album on April 20, 2019 at +233 Jazz Bar and Grill.
There shall be performances from Okyeame Kwame, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Kurl songx and Ayesem.
Other artistes to perform are Feli Nuna, Afriyie, Abiana, Wulomei, the Kwan pa and Wiyaala.
The 'Made in Ghana' project is to highlight the virtues of all groups of people in Ghana across the various regions and to also encourage Ghanaians to be proud of their culture and heritage. Basically, it seeks to promote local trade and nationalism.
The songs represent the various regions in terms of concept and the artistes featured.
The music videos of the songs will showcase some tourist sites in Ghana as Kwame's contribution to marketing Ghana's tourist sites. This is part of Okyeame Kwame's resolve to promote tourism through the arts.
Already, two songs have been released off the album; the theme song 'Made in Ghana' which features KiDi and 'Bra' which he did with Wutah Afriyie.
After the album launch, music lovers will have a tastes of the other great songs on the album on the various online music stores.
Other songs on the album are Dia Tina ft Wiyaala & King Ralph, Bolgatanga Girl ft Abiana & Atongo Zimba, Yenzima ft Fancy Gadam and Nkunim ft Feli Finest & Senku.
The rest are '1956' ft Kurl Songs & Ayesem, 'Ino Be My Matter' ft. Kuami Eugene, 'Kpa' ft. Wulomei and 'Melowo' ft. Feli Nuna.

Ghana Joins The World To Celebrate “World Bipolar Day” On March 30th With An Awareness Event And Campaign; Check Out The Details.
Abena Korkor Addo’s Psychosocial Africa partners with International organizations to create awareness of bipolar disorder on the 30th day of March 2019 at the Accra Mall Food Court as the world celebrates Bipolar Day Internationally.
As the world commemorates and sheds light on people living with bipolar disorder on Saturday under the theme ”Creating an Alliance of Awareness”, locally, Mental Health Society of Ghana, (MEHSOG), Time to Change Global and Psychosocial Africa will also merge resources to hold an event at the Accra Mall Food Court at 12pm on the day.
The event will seek to create awareness and some deep education about the condition while the advocacy groups open up to welcome and support more people who are living with the condition.
The three organizations who are pooling resources to put together the event vary in functions, though they aim at the same solution – supporting, dealing with stigmatization and discrimination of people with the condition.
Mental Health Society of Ghana, (MEHSOG) supports mental health patients while Time to Change Global is an anti-stigma and anti-discrimination campaign originated from the UK and Psychosocial Africa is a mental health advocacy and support group.
Celebrated every year on March 30th, World Bipolar Day (WBD) is a world-wide awareness initiative of ISBD in conjunction with the Asian Network of Bipolar Disorder (ANBD) and the International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF).
Through international collaboration, WBD provides a platform for:
- Global education
- Open discussion
- Improved sensitivity about bipolar disorder among others
