Drama, Fun And Emotions At Maiden Edition Of Date Rush/Date Rush Took Off With A Bang

The Studio B of TV3 was agog with excitement at the maiden shoot of its riveting dating and reality program, Date Rush. The audience at the studio were treated to a fun filled atmosphere by the bachelors and the 10 intelligent ladies who were desirous of getting a date.

Two eligible bachelors, Edem and Sparkles stepped up to the challenge to wow and rouse the ladies for a date.

Edem was the first to attempt to woo a lady out of the 10 bevy of beauties. However, he got lights turned off by six of the ladies signifying a rejection by them or simply put they were not ready for date with him. He was therefore left with the difficult task of convincing the four remaining ladies for a date. He then had to, through interactions and conversations with the ladies on their hobbies and lifestyles make the difficult decision of taking one of the obviously beautiful ladies for a date.

Sparkles had the difficult task of the two bachelors. He made a rather grand appearance on stage with a dance to the admiration of the date awaiting ladies. He is good looking, affable with a great personality. His dancing and other talents on display had all lights on from the ladies. This means he was in the driving seat since he had all 10 ladies to choose from. The burden now had to shift to the ladies who must display their talent, skill, personality to now convince him to choose one of them for a date. It was a pretty hilarious but difficult sight to behold with the ladies stretching out their hands and doing all in their power to catch the eyes of their potential date. He was finally able to get his date to the admiration of the audience in studio. This, however, was not without drama as one of the ladies burst into tears apparently for not being the lucky one chosen for the date. It was quiet an emotional moment for the audience whose simultaneous reactions was awwwww.

The maiden one-hour show was show on Friday at 20:00 GMT on TV3. The host of the show, Nii Kpakpo Thompson was in his usual joviality elements as he treated viewers to a fun filled night.

Date Rush is a production of Adesa Production Ltd, a member of the Media General Group and sponsored by Twellium Industrial Ltd, producers of Rush Energy Drink. The show deals with bachelors who have to impress a panel of ten women through a series of videos about them, followed by the contestant demonstrating a skill. If the ladies like what they see, they keep a light on. If all lights go off, the bachelor goes home alone.

Abeiku Santana Honoured At Pan African Executive Awards; Drops Journalism Pen.

Multiple awards winning Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, popularly known behind the microphone as, Abeiku Santana, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Media at the Pan African Executives Summit Awards 2018, in Accra.

The event was staged at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday 9th March, 2019, array experts able to appreciate the media field from various heterogeneous social heritage and has the objective of honouring Africans who have positively affected society in their endeavor, media and the business world.

Founder of the Despite Groups of Company, Dr. Kwame Osei Despite and Managing Director at the Groups of Company, Fada Dickson, was also recipient of honours in recognition of their noteworthy accomplishments and how their humanitarian acts have given hope to the hopeless and help to the helpless.

The name Abeiku Santana has been firmly rooted in the media world for the past twenty and more years now. His contribution to broadcasting can never be overlooked for a long time to come. But, over the past couple of years, Abeiku divided his time between broadcasting and tourism earning him the name Mr. Tourism.

Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Awards in Media, Abeiku Santana, revealed that, he will go into retirement; redraw himself from all media-related activities, and wholeheartedly delve into tourism adding that, his umbilical cord will still be connected to media even it will not gain much of his attention.

According to Abeiku, the decision to retire from media was a tough one because of the love he has for it, but the time has come for him to make the switch to another sector he has loved for a while now. He didn’t categorically state when he will retire.

However, the media mogul reminded the patrons of the ideals of the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to make Africa a great continent to handle to it owns affairs uninterruptedly. He added that, Africans must unite under one emblem, using the same travel passport within the ECOWAS regions.

Akoto Boateng Hosts Ghana’s First Entertainment Quiz Show.

Ghanaian entertainment news website enewsgh.com is rolling out the country’s first entertainment quiz show #ENTQuizShow.

Announced two years ago, the show is finally set to take off, producers say.

The show’s Producers have also announced Broadcaster Kojo Akoto Boateng as host for the first season, which airs soon across multiple platforms.

Kojo Akoto Boateng brings to the show an incredible wealth of know-how on the entertainment ecosystem in Ghana. Currently with Citi FM and Citi TV, he has over the years played an active role in the space, rising to become a respected voice.

The #ENTQuizShow will be recorded at the Media Obed Studios in Accra, and will feature contestants who will be selected from an online registration exercise on www.enewsgh.com/entquizshow.

Each week, two contestants will make it to the show. They will be quizzed on general local entertainment knowledge. All questions are put together by a research team made up of leading industry persons with years of expertise.

Producers say the #ENTQuizShow will help to consolidate the gains made by players in sustaining interest in the industry.

Rapper Trigmatic Bugs Out Of Radio.

Ghanaian Rapper and Songwriter cum broadcaster, Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro- Agyei, known by his stage name as Trigmatic, has resigned from the field of broadcast Journalism.

According to rapper Trigmatic, he needs to allocate a d attach special emphasis on his music career, hence the need to partways with radio.

Earlier, rapper Trigmatic revealed that his journey as a radio personality didn’t explode on a silver platter, explaining that, he walked through the rocky life to be able to display much dexterity in his endeavor, as he exerted himself by doing mental and physical work out of necessity for two years without earning a monthly wage.

The celebrated rapper, used to write for Sparxx Magazine, and during the period of indeterminate length of promoting the magazine to a radio personality, he eventually got the chance to host his first show on radio which came without and offer.

Rapper Trigmatic, who recently celebrated a decade in broadcasting and performing arts by staging "My Life" musical concert in a Facebook post sighted by www.georgebritton.com, stated that, he is bowing out of radio to fully embrace his timeless passion for music.
