Dansoman Readies to Host 2018 Dansoman Food Festival On 21st September 2018.



Dansoman will be the center of attention as it plays host to this year’s edition of the “Dansoman Food Festival” which comes off on the 21st of September 2018.

The event, in its second year running prides as the biggest ever food festival in the history of Ghana with the focal interest of promoting our local dishes, businesses and celebrating Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah since it coincides with founders day.

Last year’s event recorded the participation of a thousand plus who thronged the venue, but, this year, organizers are expecting a double that number at the Methodist University College, Dansoman campus starting from midday 10:00am till 10:00pm.

Price of tickets for this year’s event is; Singles – Ghc 40, Double – Ghc 70 and for a  group of 5 – GhC 150.

A purchase grants the bearer an entry, a free drink, the chance to participate in some challenges and games as well as that sumptuous buffet from the Nuelfoodzone.

This event is organized by QBE GH and partnered by The WAVE Africa and Green Events and Multimedia.

What a way to celebrate a holiday as it falls on the Friday before the weekend. Come join in and enjoy great music and rich Ghanaian cuisines.

Kwesi Arthur, La Meme Gang, Amaarae, DJ Mic Smith And Vision DJ To Host True Music Africa Festival.



Ghanaian performing acts, including, Kwesi Arthur, La Meme Gang, Amaarae, DJ Mic Smith, Vision DJ have been given the baton to thrill fans at the sixth Boiler Room and Ballantione's True Music Africa.

Boiler Room and Ballantine’s announced Accra as the next stop for True Music Africa, a tour that unearths pioneering True Music artists and their stories of doing it for themselves in the underground music scene. Broadcasting their performances to an audience of more than 17 million around the world, True Music Africa shares artists’ insights and experiences of their local music scenes via a compelling documentary series.

This year's edition of the event follows the success of recent global True Music projects, including last year’s Hybrid Sounds tour, and is slated for Saturday, 23rd March at a secret location in Accra and will feature live performances from a flavoursome array of Ghana's buzzing hip pop, rap, trap and R&B scenes to represent the continent.

True Music Africa will welcome a killer line-up of the country’s most exciting, independent artists for another incredible show in a music scene that’s currently booming, where young, ambitious Ghanaian artists are becoming inspirational stars.

Ghana is a first for Boiler Room and Ballantine’s True Music Africa which has previously toured South Africa, Cameroon and Kenya and has given a global platform to some of the freshest talent the continent has to offer.

Meanwhile, Chief Business Development Officer at Boiler Room, Steven Appleyard stated that, they're tremendously excited to take True Music Africa to Accra, Ghana, adding that, this will be the first time they have touched down in the country, a place whose rich musical heritage has influenced a new wave of fresh young talent re-working hip-hop, trap, rap and R&B.

According Mr. Steven Appleyard, they couldn't be more excited to be pushing the sounds of these artists to their audience and showing them what's happening in this special part of the world.

Head of Music at Ballantine, Tom Elton also added that, with True Music Africa they’ve been able to explore some of the continent’s most vibrant and diverse music scenes and share them with the world, stating that, there’s a real buzz and energy around the continent right now which is why they’re so excited to head to Accra.

Mr. Tom Elton revealed that, Accra Ghana has been a location where their tourism feathers has never been before and see what this energy is bringing to their local scene. He mentioned that, it feels like the perfect time to be able to shine a light on Ghana’s fantastic young independent talent and there’s no better partner to do this with than Boiler Room.”

3Music Awards: Shatta Wale To Lead The Army Of Artistes.



Multiple awards winning Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall musician, Charles Nii-Armah Mensah, who professionally performs as Shatta Wale, has been chosen in preference to other local and international performing acts to serve as the opening artiste to wet the grounds at this year's edition of the 3 music awards.

Charterhouse Ghana Begets New Plaque For VGMAs.



Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse Ghana has unveiled the new plaque to be presented to artiste who are being pronounced victorious in their respective categories at this year's edition of the awards event.

The unveiling of the new plaque was stage amidst the launching of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the nominees announcement ceremony at the La Beach Hotel, in Accra and was slated for 15th March, 2019.

Instituted 20 years ago, VGMA is being organised to reward deserving artistes for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the growth of the Ghana’s music industry.

Started in 2000, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has grown to become the most respected awards scheme and, indeed, one of the most respected on the African continent.

This new plaque comes in a gold plated and star-shaped with a sound hole of an acoustic guitar, guitar strings(A-D-G-B-E) centred in the heart of the star, with the objective of it being used at the 20th and subsequent editions of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards plaque has been changed over the years. The previous plague was unveiled during the 2013 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards night which includes a plastic red, gold, green (national colors of Ghana) compact disc to symbolize music.
