“Twi Songs Enjoy Airplay Than Other Ghanaian Languages. – Edem

Published

on

RAPPER Edem has revealed that it is much easier for Twi songs to receive airplay or get attention in the media space than songs in other languages.

“I have a personal experience so I know what I am talking about. The likes of Fancy Gadam and Wiyaala are amazing talents but we hardly hear their songs on the radio because the language is not friendly,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Thursday, October 17.

According to Edem, it took the intervention of God for his song Toto to get airplay because the title and meant something vulgar in another language.

“I was told point blank by some stations that the song was profane which was not the case. It was the streets that made Toto a hit.

"there are many talented artistes who rap in Ewe but the media is no giving them the needed attention because the language is unpopular,” he said.

Not too long ago, there was controversy in the music industry when some respected players released their lists of best rappers.

For Edem though, rapper Tinny is his all-time best rapper.

“Tinny is my all-time bestrapper. His rap in Ga is unique and no one has been able to beat to him on that. My other favourite rappers will be Okomfo Kwadee and Obrafour,” he said.

Asked whether he wasn’t the best rapper, Edem said he was unique in his own way. “I do not compete with other artistes, I just set my goals and accomplish them. When you try to compete with others, you might lose focus of your target,” he said.

“Cheating Doesn’t Lead To Divorce. – Reggie Rockstone

Published

on

Popularly enthroned as Ghana’s Hiplife grandpapa, Reginald Yaw Asante Osei known in showbiz as Reggie Rockstone says infidelity is the least on the list of things that breaks-up marriages.

According to him, a partner cheating does not amount to break-ups because there are other factors that kill people’s interest in relationships.

He explained that to some women, security in relationships means being financially satisfied.

“To some women, when you say security they’re talking about banks. As long as they go shopping and they look ‘fly’, they’re comfortable,” he said on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Friday.

Reggie also stated that intimacy in relationships die out when women begin to focus more on children rather than their husbands when they begin having kids.

He also disagreed with the assertion that men turn to loose interest in relationships ‘‘when they get what they want from the woman’’.

While the man is interested in romance, Reggie says a woman’s attention drifts to building her home rather than performing initial duties that kept her husband glued to her.

The VVIP member has been married for about 18 years to his wife, since 2001 and has been blessed with three kids.

In an Instagram post, in 2017, during their 16th anniversary, he described his wife as “my best friend, better half and my love”.

They also have been seen together on numerous occasions during shows, indicating a high level of fondness between the two.

Reggie explained that the dedication to each other has kept their relationship active for a long time.

He further suggested that partners should revive friendships in relationships to ensure long-lasting bonds.
