CFW will be celebrated again in 2019 with the staging of its signature fashion showcase in Kingston – the creative city- during June 13th -16th.
Not only will the work of the region’s best designers be on show, but everything from the food eaten, the holistic care of the mind and body, what’s worn, and how they rock their styles, will be reflected in this year’s CFW.
This event is organised to promote Caribbean fashion and culture, the event takes a different twist this year with hopes of not only bridging the gap between Africa and the Caribbean but also expanding the reach of the booming fashion industry in the Caribbean.
The fashion week will not only have its usual fashion show with supermodels such as Alicia Burke and Jeneil Williams.
The Caribbean’s leading entertainment and fashion brand, the Caribbean Fashion Week will also host big-time Caribbean designers coming from the U.S. and Europe.
Victoria Michaels Shines At AFI Fashion Week In South Africa.
It is becoming obvious that no one can match top model, Victoria Michaels, when it also comes to runway mileage this season. She keeps doing amazingly well on major and international fashion platforms.
One of such shows is the just ended spring and summer season of African Fashion International (AFI) Fashion Week in South Africa. She was among top fashion models that brought life to the AFI Fashion Week.
She had the honor of showcasing designs by top designers including David Tlale, whose works for the night have been described as “meaningful”. The flamboyant designer paid homage to his biggest muse and late mother, Joyce Tlale, naming his SS20 collection “Joyce” Tlale’s.
His presentation began with fun and colourful pieces, drawing inspiration from his ‘Heritage Month’ collaboration with Tastic Rice, as well as the rich and vibrant cultures found in South Africa. Visuals and images of Victoria on the runway during David Tlale’s showcase have been generating a lot of attention on social media.
On Instagram she said, “It was an emotional night for models, guests and designers as @davidtlale paid tribute to his mother with a tribute worthy collection @afi_sa Fashion Week.” “Thanks to the amazing @andiswamanxiwa @deonredman and the entire crew for having me. I love you @taryncannings.”
Victoria also walked for Taibo Bacar, Matte Nolim, La Art Neoville, House of Jahdara and Kreyann, all of whom are amazing designers.
The model, who was born in Accra, to Nigerian father and Nigerian-Ghanaian mother, is one of the most celebrated models on the continent. Aside the runway influence, she was recently announced as a champion of the environment as she joins European Union (EU) climate change campaign, in addition to other amazing social projects.
African Designers To Succumb For 2019 Glitz Africa Fashion Week, Accra.
Ghana’s biggest annual fashion event Glitz Africa Fashion Week (GAFW), is set to stage its seventh edition as it presents a perfect opportunity for designers from, and across Africa to meet and showcase their collections.
Produced by Glitz Africa, the exciting, Pan-African celebrity, fashion and lifestyle magazine, GAFW brings together industry players and fashion enthusiasts to interact in a fun-packed week at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra. The event is slated for October 17 to 20, 2019.
Models, fashionistas, celebrities and influencers also meet in an atmosphere of glitz, fashion and style. Ahead of GAFW, Glitz Africa organized the Young Creative Design Talent competition to harness the skills of emerging designers and give them the platform to showcase their designs to an international audience.
The fashion week will begin with a Beauty Forum on Thursday, October 17 at the Labadi Beach Hotel followed by a private cocktail party at the residence of the French Ambassador.
Other activities lined up for GAFW include: Day 1 (October 18) – Young Design Talent show, Runway shows. Day 2 (October 19) – Business of fashion seminar, photography sessions, exhibitions, graduate show and runway shows and Day 3 (October) – Presentations, runway shows and after party
The GAFW Trade Tent/Retail Lounge will also be opened during the event for guests to interact with fashion retailers and designers and make purchases as well.

Their team is putting up this new support scheme for the treatment of these little ones, as a way of empowering their mothers who have left their work and livelihood in order to ensure their children are cured, from extremely expensive funded disease, most of them are unable to raise that needed funds.
“Save a Child Fundraiser Fashion Show”, was uniquely designed to fill in the vacuum by helping raise funds, to support children suffering from cancers; and undergoing treatment at the Pediatric Oncology unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. September, being an annual Childhood Cancer Awareness month, IWN is creating awareness through it’s media encounters and in the process raise funding support for these children to overcome their complex challenges.
The climax fundraising show seeks to bring to fore the rich local prints and designs to put our senior class citizens in style.
