The Melcom “Best Female eCommerce Entrepreneur of the Year” recognizes the most exceptional among a unique group of people who have made and continue to make strides in doing business online in Ghana. Titi Ademola, Founder, Creative Director, KikI Clothing

Titi, a Ghanaian/ Nigerian fashion designer, is the brain behind KIKI Clothing. is the brainchild of Titi Ademola.

After undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from the London College of Fashion, Titi transferred her degree to the American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Georgia, with a concentration in Marketing.

Staying true to her desire to relocate back to West Africa, KIKI Clothing was eventually born with a focus focus dedicated to creating African inspired collections that are meticulously made in Ghana.

Esther Asante, Founder, Organic Trade & Investments

Esther isn’t someone content with just one job; in fact, she’s not even satisfied running just one company.
In 2009, this powerhouse entrepreneur founded Virtual Linguistic Solutions. She spent the next several years developing it into one of the leading copywriting and translating companies in Ghana.

But by 2015, she was ready to spread her wings even more and decided to start another company: Organic Trade & Investments (OTI).

Asante’s goal for OTI is to build a responsible online store that specialized in promoting and selling organic, non-GMO commodities, all of which is sourced directly from the small towns and villages where the raw ingredients are produced.

Farida Bedwei

Farida Nana Efua Bedwei, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Logiciel (Ghana) Ltd

Farida is Co-Founder of Logiciel, Software Company developing banking systems for the microfinance industry. Her role involves assessing the industry and coming up with practical solutions, which are easy to use by persons with no formal banking training. She believes the informal sector, which make up between 60%-70% of the population across Africa, deserve the same banking services as those in the formal sector.
Prior to co-founding Logiciel, Farida worked in the telecom software industry, developing mobile gateways and services for mobile networks and content providers.

Regina Honu

Regina Honu, CEO, Soronko Academy

Regina Honu is a Ghanaian Social Entrepreneur, software developer and founder of Soronko Solutions, a software development company in Ghana.[1] She opened Soronko Academy, the first coding and Human-centered design school for children and young adults in West Africa.

Regina has received multiple awards for her tireless efforts, including being named by CNN as one of the 12 inspirational women who rock STEM. She was also named as one of the six women making an impact in Tech in Africa and one of the ten female entrepreneurs to watch in emerging economies.

Kuami Eugene’s Rockstar Concert Lit Up Kumasi.

The long awaited ‘Rock Star’ concert and album launch of the tipped artist of the year, Kuami Eugene was staged yesterday, December 15, 2018, in the garden city of Ghana – Kumasi.

The VIP car park of the Kumasi Sports Stadium was shrouded in an eruption and a non-seizing amusement as Lynx Entertainment Jewel Kuami Eugene and other arts redefined stagecraft and crowd control.

Tones of music makers and lovers came out to support the ‘Walaahi’ hitmaker. Among the arts who dosed fans with performances on the night where Osiekroms very own Okyeame Kwame, Adina, Kwesi Arthur,  Kidi, Strongman Burner, DopeNation, Bless Gh among others.

The Rockstar amidst the performances also had his debut 13 track album, which featured only Sarkodie launched at the momentous concert. The debut album of the ‘Angela’ hitmaker, who was once a gospel singer also has one gospel song titled, ‘Heaven’.

The grateful Kuami Eugene took to his social media pages to express his profound gratitude to all who came out to support him and added, ”l nearly cried last night”.

PROMISELAND: King Promise To Shutdown Accra With Mega Concert On Dec. 15

R2bees, Mr Eazi, Kwesi Arthur, La Meme Gang for King Promise’s “Promiseland” Concert on Dec. 15

Award-winning Ghanaian vocalist and possible artiste of the year King Promise is set to stage the 2nd edition of his annual concert.

The event will also see performances from Mr Eazi, Darko Vibes and the La meme Gang, Kwesi Arthur and the Ground Up Charle crew among other surprise acts.

To spice the day up, there will be several games to the pleasure of the patrons and a special meet and greet where patrons will get the opportunity to interact with all the invited artists.

“This is a special way of saying thank you to my fans for supporting my music during the year… I will also use the opportunity to get close to them,” the singer said

The event will be held at the Crystal Park in East Legon on 15th of December at exactly 12pm with a cool rate of 50 cedis

Sogakope To Host Africa’s Biggest Urban Cultural Festival From 21st – 23rd December.

December in Ghana sees an occurrence of activities that cloud the calenders of festive merry makers from all over the world with concerts, private events and even unplanned raves. 

This year, The Bacon Group adds up to the festive experience with the official Christmas party starter – The 4TC Urban Music and Culture Festival. The three day event is anticipated to be the biggest festival in Africa yet for urban culture from 21st – 23rd December 2018 at the Sogakope Beach Resort. 

The Launch party which was held at Urban Grill on Wednesday 5th December, saw an attendance of music professionals and acknowledged contributors to the music and entertainment industry with exclusive coverage by MTV Base Africa.

Guests were catered for by the Yolo Group and entertained by musical talents like Kobla Junior, Yung Pabi, Phabrik and many more.

The 4TC team detailed to press at the launch that, the festival is aimed at celebrating the cultural creative revolution across Africa and in the diaspora with focuses on all aspects of urban lifestyle including music, film, art and fashion. They further stressed that not only does the the festival aim to give a platform for African talents to be recognized on a global scale but also help build their acts and knowledge in the business of music production. 

The 3-day event will kick off with a masterclass and workshop for artists and professionals with the sole purpose of educating on how to build and monetize a career in music. Day two and three will host a number of activities including games, movies, sightseeing, shopping arena and concerts hosted by some of the best Dj’s on the nightlife scene. 

The maiden edition of the festival is designed to be an experiential affair with a curation of elements that focuses on the main features of the event, namely; Music, Movies, Tech, Fashion, Arts and Food. 

The venue, Sogakope Beach Resort is nicknamed the pride of Sogakope for its serene and beautiful setting. Located in the Volta Region just two hours’ drive from Accra, it boasts of a tranquil garden, a relaxing atmosphere and an events grounds that welcomes the Volta River on its doorsteps. The venue also has comfy and exquisite single bedroom chalets and executive suites with a fusion of cultural and modern décor and private Jacuzzis. Recap; Worlafest Makes A Memorable Entrance.

Worlafest ’18 will definitely go down as one of the highlights of 2018 in Ghana’s event space. The Worla Festival Of Arts and music, was the first of its kind in Ghana. An event that celebrates artisans during the day and peaks with a musical concert in the evening.

The event comes off the back of the Ghanaian artist Worlasi’s annual end of year concert. The goal this time around is to expand the concert and introduce a different facet that Worlasi is passionate about — Art.
The maiden edition, which was held at Alliance Francaise on Friday, had over 20 exhibitors showing their work of paintings & woodcraft as well as Sculpting & graffiti.

Some of the notable artists included, Andrew Tettey Arko, Edward Buxton, Midichi, Shika Odamtten, Bright Ackwerh, Hanson Akati, Majoree, Michael Bledo, Creamy Artwork, Enoch Fordjour, art students from Roman Ridge Amongst others.

The musical concert later that evening was definitely the highlight of the night. Opening acts Keeny-Ice, Makafui, Kobla Jnr & Yung Pabi shined with impressive performances with DJ Isaac Cool. Headline acts Epixode, Trigmatic, Akan, Manifest & Worlasi himself gave world-class performances backed by the Senku & Safoa Bands.

Already, plans for Worlafest 2019 are set, with rumors of Sena Dagadu being the headline act. The vision is exciting & the inclusion of the artisans makes it very laudable. Kudos to the organizers, Creative Men & TIC Ghana. We look forward to 2019 with a lot of enthusiasm & hope for the creative arts industry.
